Bayda placed on waivers; to be demoted
The Pittsburgh Penguins have placed Ryan Bayda on waivers this afternoon. If he clears at 11:59am Eastern tomorrow, he will be assigned to the AHL's Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, who open their season on Saturday night against the Syracuse Crunch.

Penguins sign Ryan Bayda
The Pittsburgh Penguins have turned Ryan Bayda's training camp tryout into a one year, two-way contract. Bayda, 28, has spent 8 years in the Carolina Hurricanes' organization while posting 40 points in 179 career NHL games, all with the Hurricanes. He has also played in 305 career AHL games with Albany, Manitoba, and Lowell, putting up 216 points in that span.

Bayda gets one-year contract from Pens
Former Canes winger Ryan Bayda has signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins, according to various news reports.
Bayda was invited to the Pens' training camp on a tryout. He was offered a two-way contract by the Canes after last season.
