After 12 years in the league, Flyers winger Sami Kapanen has decided to end his NHL career. Sami Kapanen Retires to Finland
Recently he is remembered as a fourth liner for the Philadelphia Flyers, but when Sami Kapanen retires this summer, he should be remembered as much more. Reports have Kapanen retiring from the NHL and returning to his homeland of Finland to continue playing hockey.

Sami Kapanen announced his retirement from the NHL on Monday. Kapanen who spent the last five seasons with the Flyers after being acquired from the Carolina Hurricanes retires after 13 seasons in the NHL.

Capitals Post-Mortem
A great season came to an early end last night, as the Flyers eliminated the Capitals in overtime of Game 7. As painful as the loss was, it was made more painful by very poor officiating. I tracked down the relevant NHL rules, and show that the officials blew it.

Flyers Need to Bounce Back Against Isles, plus the latest on the Trade Front
It's not a must-win situation, but the Flyers need to take care of the last place Islanders if they want to stay in the hunt for the top spot in the Eastern Conference. They need to ignore all of the injuries and Forsberg talk and go out and get a win.
