Robidas, Souray injuries loom large for Stars
An interesting exercise at the end of the 2011-12 NHL regular season might be to see which Stars players skated in all 82 contests. Last year, there were four Dallas players who held that distinction-Trevor Daley, Brenden Morrow, Steve Ott and Mike Ribeiro.
Of that quartet, all but Ribeiro has already missed time due to injury so far this year, something that has been a trend for...

Souray, Stars go on defensive
Pete Peeters sometimes tells a story about the time he stood in net against Sheldon Souray.
Peeters was a goaltending consultant in Edmonton a few years back and, as he occasionally does, put on full goalie pads and faced shots in an Oilers practice when Souray unloaded his signature hard shot.
"I didn't see it but I heard it," said Peeters, now a goalie coach with...

Devils Rumored to Have Claimed Sheldon Souray
As per Jim Cerny, there are rumors swirling around the Rangers (and Devils) beat writers that the Devils have put a claim on Sheldon Souray. As a team lower in the standings, the Devils have one of the first opportunities to claim the veteran defenseman.

Prior to this season, Souray was told to “stay away” from the Oilers training camp and was loaned to the Bears, who are the Washington Capitals AHL affiliate. In his prime, Souray was the prototypical offensive defenseman, capable of scoring 20 goals...

Rangers Taking a Look at Souray
According to Mark Spector of Sportsnet.ca, the Rangers are actively scouting Sheldon Souray. Apparently a number of Rangers scouts, as well as Glen Sather have spent some time watching Souray play for the Hershey Bears.
In my eyes it's worth taking a look at Souray only if the Oilers put him on re-entry waivers. At half the price and with one year remaining, Souray would be a low...

Tambellini To Souray: Don’t Come Around Here No More
Over the last few days, it appeared that Sheldon Souray was putting the past behind him.
Today, he appeared skating with his teammates at Rexall Place. Yes sir, it surely appears that Sheldon Souray has put the worst behind him, and was ready to embark on a new season with a fresh attitude.
From TSN:
“Things that I said, that’s five months ago,” Souray told TSN...
