And The Award Goes To…
from Tim Baines of the Ottawa Sun, NHLers obviously aren’t concerned by the medical reports because they voted for Crosby as the player they would build around. Alex Ovechkin got just one vote. Thanks Mrs. Ovechkin.
Crosby was noted in several categories: Best skater, best puckhandler and best passer.
The Big Z, Zdeno Chara, edged Shea Weber by one vote for the hardest shot and...

Stars lose another game against a bottom feeder
Final
Dallas Stars 2 - Anaheim Ducks 5
Sometimes, it just seems that everything just doesn't go your way. From the outset of this game, it was clear that this just wasn't the Stars night. They were unlucky in the first period, bad in the second and a tease in the third.
In all honesty, Dallas could've been leading this game 4-1 after the first ten minutes but the puck...

Edmonton Oilers coach Tom Renney says Steve Ott should be suspended
Anton Lander of the Edmonton Oilers got rocked by Steve Ott of the Dallas Stars on Saturday.
It was hard, fast, and a blind-sided hit. It even caused a ruckus between the two teams. And Oilers coach Tom Reeney says the hit to his player warrants a Shanaban.
Here’s what happened via the Score:
Ott received a two-minute penalty for the hit, and five for the fight.
Renney simply...

Stars owner Gaglardi reports for full duty
It is always dangerous to look at the standings too early in the season in any league, but especially in the NHL. We gathered around the laptop in November and saw that up was now down. Down was now up. And resources, payroll, and talent levels didn't seem to matter too much to where the team was in the playoff race.
Of course, when 15 games are played, things haven't sorted themselves...

After the Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Dallas Stars, 4-1, Wednesday night, Steve Ott and and Flyers coach Peter Laviolette ran into a bit of an altercation with one another after the first period.
Here’s that video:

Steve Ott is at it again
First off, Dallas Stars hack Steve Ott is a jerk and if he never played another game in the NHL, it wouldn't hurt my feelings one bit. Second, there was no reason for Steve Ott to engage or say anything to Peter Laviolette, so what he walking down the tunnel to the locker room. If you look at the video you will see that Laviolette isn't wearing a uniform there is no reason...

Greg Campbell-Steve Ott Bloody Battle Ignites Fist-Throwing Clash Between Bruins and Stars
The minute you saw Bruins center Greg Campbell take to the wing instead of the opening faceoff, you knew there was something brewing. It didn't take long for the two teams to revisit their bruising past, as Campbell and Stars' agitator Steve Ott dropped the gloves just one second into the matchup. Ott got a good cross on Campbell's nose, causing the blood to flow, but give Campbell...
