In the offseason, Jaromir Jagr signed for 3.3 million with the Flyers.
The Penguins had that money available but they decided to pay Tyler Kennedy 2.0 million and Steve Sullivan 1.5 million.

Penguins LW Sullivan a game-time decision
Pittsburgh Penguins left wing Steve Sullivan is expected to be a game-time decision for Tuesday's game against the Colorado Avalanche.
Sullivan suffered a lower-body injury in Saturday's lost at Carolina and sat out practice Monday.
He has one goal and six assists in 17 games this season.

Penguins sign forward Steve Sullivan
The Penguins on Friday signed free-agent forward Steve Sullivan to a one-year contract, worth $1.5 million.
Sullivan, 36, is a 15-year veteran who had 10 goals and 22 points for Nashville last season. He spent six seasons with the Predators, and has 682 career points.
