THEO PECKHAM RUMORS & GOSSIP

LOL As The Kids Say

Heading onto the ice last night for a little Capsule action I tweeted that the Oilers' game was going to be a bloodbath. Four defencemen out, Theo Peckham on the second pair, four games lost on a row, each one worse than the last, nobody scoring, best team in the league in town, pissed off after coming off of a loss.Bloodbath, right? After hauling myself out of a loss where I...

Nathan Horton Drops Theo Peckham With Big Right Hand in Fourth Fight With Bruins

Bruins winger Nathan Horton set a new career high with his fourth fight of the season on Sunday night in Edmonton. It was how he did it, however, that won't soon be forgotten -- especially by Theo Peckham. After what Horton apparently deemed a questionable hit by Peckham in the first period, the Bruins forward immediately sought out his Edmonton counterpart. The two dropped the...

Is It Time To Expand The Role Of Instant Replay In The NHL?

Last post I griped about how Theo Peckham was on the receiving end of a truly awful call in Anaheim.  Please recall Peckham being assessed a two minute penalty for delay of game after officials claimed that it was cleared over the glass, when it was plain as day that it was shot through the photographer’s camera slot in the glass. Peckham ended up getting two minutes, and...

Video- Puck Finds The Camera Hole

Theo Peckham of the Edmonton Oilers shot the puck through the hole in the glass designed for photographers who shoot the game. All four on-ice officials missed the call since Peckham was given two minutes for delay of game. Another reason for a coach challenge? Watch the play, scroll to the 40 second mark.

Theo Peckham: Rock And A Hard Place

I'm beginning our look at 09-10 defenseman with a very important piece of the future: Theo Peckham. Unique among the young defensemen knocking at the NHL door, Peckham has the physical tools required to play at this level. There are concerns with regard to injury and conditioning, but the resume is a good one. Boxcars: 15gp, 0-1-1 Shots: 9 Plus Minus: -8 Corsi (Rel): -12.6 (5th...

#5 Prospect: Theo Peckham

Current Rank: #5Summer 2009: #2Theo Peckham's slide from #2 overall prospect to fifth overall comes down to one thing: conditioning. Falcons coach Rob Daum was quoted on Bob Stauffer's show earlier this fall talking about Peckham and conditioning. In the interview, Daum suggested that Peckham's slow start in the AHL this season was due to slow recovery from his ankle...

Peckham Sent Down

Word tonight that the Edmonton Oilers have sent out Theo Peckham. He'll join the Springfield Falcons and won't make the trip west with the big club. Peckham didn't play well during this callup, owing to a pre-season injury and no training camp. Not to overstate the issue, but the Oilers have a tremendous number of young defensemen coming through the system and this would...

Oilers Recall Peckham

The Oilers have called up Theo Peckham from Springfield (AHL). Peckham has played well after missing all of training camp with an ankle problem. Peckham's injury meant the Oilers had fewer decisions to make this fall along the blue, but his callup (and the performance of Taylor Chorney) today may signal the beginning of the process that allows Peckham to establish himself in...
