Red Wings LW Filppula to sit out Tuesday's game
Detroit Red Wings left wing Valtteri Filppula will sit out Tuesday's game against St. Louis due to a shin laceration
Filppula was hurt in Sunday's loss at Colorado when he was cut by a skate. He required stitches to close a small but deep wound.
The 27-year-old Filppula has eight goals and 13 assists in 25 games this season.

Wings' Filppula living up to expectations

A Different Kind of Filppula
Any Wings fan is familiar with the hard work Valtteri Filppula put into his game this past-offseason. After coaches insisted time and time again for him to shoot the puck more often, we are starting to see a much more aggressive (and much more productive) player donning the No. 51 jersey.
While Filppula is heading into his prime at the age of 26 and has a very bright future ahead...
