I think it's safe to say that if David Dziurzynski had not been knocked out March 6 vs Toronto, Kaspars Daugavins would not have been waived yesterday. But instead we saw a reactionary trade for Matt Kassian, and a useful depth player waived and then claimed by a superior team.
AJ Jakubec suggested yesterday afternoon that the reasoning behind the waiving was a complaint...

Welcome back to the Weekend Update. This is usually presented by Ryan Shannon, but due to unfortunate circumstances, it appears that I will be covering for him. In this weekly article will be updated Western Conference Standings, videos from around the NHL and hockey world and let's the good people of Nashville know when and...
College hockey player in Canada Brett Cook was given a lifetime ban for slugging a linesman. The incident occurred following a third-period scrap between Cook and a UQTR player. David Dziurzynski vs Frazer McLaren
Welcome to the game rookie.
The Ottawa Senators rookie David Dziurzynski finally got his

The sight of Ottawa Senators forward Dave Dziurzynski lying on the ice, knocked out, after a getting pounded into submission by Toronto Maple Leafs heavyweight Frazer McLaren sickened me to no end.
Oh, wait, no one ever gets hurt in a hockey fight, right?
What a crock.
You want to see a hockey fight knockout? We give you David Dziurzynski vs Frazer McLaren last night in Toronto just after the first period drop of the puck. As you can see in the video, David is still a mess as he’s scooped off the ice for a visit to the locker room.
Last night was just the 10th NHL game for Dziurzynski and was his first NHL fight. Seriously, this was his first...
I would like to continue my rant about how NHL players are some of the toughest folks in the sporting world, and the below video will speak for me. Check out how Frazer McLaren left David Dziurzynski not moving on the ice following their scrap during the beginning of the Senators and Maple Leafs game on Wednesday night. Dziurzynski left the game with an obvious concussion.
Dziurzynski was out cold for a few moments but recoved enough to be helped off the ice.
