Flames, MacDonald burn the Wild in 4-1 home loss
Just give up already, you know its over, its pointless, resistance is futile are all things Wild fans might be thinking as their team plays the Calgary Flames. If you expect the Flames to just throw in the towel then you do not know this team which has fully embraced the role of spoiler as they rallied to beat 2nd place Anaheim and then held on to beat a desperate Detroit team...

Joey MacDonald’s slick glove save on Brendan Morrow
Dallas Stars forward Brendan Morrow had a wide open net when he got the pass from Erik Cole out front. Calgary Flames goalie Joey MacDonald did the excellent job of going post-to-post and getting his glove out to make the save. Lucky for Morrow the Stars went on to win 4-3 and so the sheer robbery by MacDonald didn’t come into play.

Red Wings lose Joey MacDonald to Calgary
I'm a bit stunned. According to MLive's Ansar Khan, Joey MacDonald did not clear waivers: the Calgary Flames claimed him as they've got goaltending issues with Miikka Kiprusoff battling a knee issue:
The Calgary Flames have claimed goaltender Joey MacDonald off waivers today.
MacDonald, 33, was cleared to play today after being out since March 14 due to a bulging...
The Wings waive goaltender Joey MacDonald in hopes of placing him in Grand Rapids
According to Ted Kulfan of the Detroit News, the Red Wings have placed goaltender Joey MacDonald on waivers in hopes of sending him to Grand Rapids of the AHL.

The Detroit Red Wings have put goaltender Joey MacDonald on waivers.
If MacDonald is not claimed by noon EST Monday, the Red Wings plan to send him to play for the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins.

Red Wings waive Joey MacDonald
The Detroit Red Wings have something of a goalie glut, so it isn't exactly a stunner to hear that the CBC's Elliotte Friedman reports that the Wings have chosen to attempt to accommodate Joey MacDonald's desire for a trade out of town by waiving him before sending him down to Grand Rapids for a two-week conditioning stint:
Petrecki and Tyrell clear waivers. MacDonald...
MacDonald trying to get back on ice with Wings
DETROIT Darren Helm isn't the only Red Wing dealing with back problems.
Goaltender Joey MacDonald remember him? He's had back issues for years, including undergoing surgery in 2006 to repair a bulging disc.
Last season MacDonald came up from Grand Rapids when Jimmy Howard got hurt. MacDonald helped the Wings set a new NHL record with 23 straight home victories.
But...

MacDonald helps Wings extend streak to 23
DETROIT -- If this was Joey MacDonald's swan song for this season, he certainly went out on a strong note.
MacDonald had to make 31 saves, some of them spectacular, to help the Red Wings defeat their nemesis, the San Jose Sharks, 3-2, and extend their NHL record home win streak to 23 games.
Although it might not sound all that impressive when you consider the overall home win...

MacDonald making the most of opportunity
DETROIT -- Jimmy Howard who?
No, nobody has forgotten about the Red Wings All-Star goaltender, the man with a 32-11-1 record, 2.03 goals-against average and .924 save percentage.
But Joey MacDonald has certainly been there to save the day -- and the last four games -- for the Wings while Howard recovers from a broken right index finger.
Before Howard got hurt in the third period...
