Florida Panthers draft Aaron Ekblad at No. 1

The Florida Panthers selected defensman Aaron Ekblad with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NHL Draft on Friday. Ekblad was named the Ontario Hockey League’s Most Outstanding Defenseman in 2013-14.  He led all blueliners with 23 goals, finishing tied for fifth with 53 points.
