The Connecticut Whale inched closer to a playoff berth in the AHL, beating Bridgeport 3-2 and improving their record to 35-27-5-3, good for 78 points, second in the Northeast Division, and seventh in the Eastern Conference. With six games remaining in CT’s season, they need to hold off one of Norfolk and Hershey (both with 75 points) to qualify for the playoffs.

Springfield, MA, November 25, 2012 – Ryan Bourque’s goal with 15.6 seconds left in the third period gave the Connecticut Whale a 3-2 win over the Springfield Falcons Sunday at the MassMutual Center.
The victory extended a Whale win streak to four games and lifted Connecticut to two games above .500 for the first time on the season, at 9-7-1-0 for 19 points.

Today marks the beginning of the 2012 World Junior Championship Tournament, taking place in Edmonton.
