Chinese to Showcase Synchronized Pole Dancing as Demonstration Sport

When Chinese officials lobbied the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to add synchronized pole dancing -- an activity that is sweeping Beijing -- as a demonstration sport, it met with surprisingly little resistance. While the event was initially to take place at an exclusive "gym" in downtown Beijing, it's since been moved to a bigger venue to accommodate what's expected to be a large, boisterous crowd of pole dance devotees, casual fans and enthusiastic curiosity seekers.
