Team USA loses best sprinter, Tyson Gay, to injury

USA Track and Field took a huge blow today as their top sprinter, Tyson Gay, fell due to an injured hamstring during his 200 qualifying race. He is the World Champion in both the 100 and 200 meter races and has already qualified for the 100 meters, but with this fall he will not be on the Olympic team for the 200 meter race. The big thing now is to make sure that Gay can recover from his injury in order to even compete in the games at all. Will Gay be ready for Beijing?

This is a huge blow to Team USA, and a big disappointment for Gay personally I'm sure.

Hopefully Tyson wil be OK. It sounds as though he didn't do anything too serious.

(we can hope anyway).

Don't think it's the dreaded snapped hammy...Men's sprint team still solid going Beijing

They were saying, it's just a cramp

yeah, injury updated now

let's hope it heals up fine and he doesn't get hurt in the big show. that's gotta be agonzing, esp in track where you don't have a lot of room for error.
