I’m not sure what you’re going as for Halloween, but I’m pretty sure that your costume isn’t nearly as good as Josh Sundquist’s. Sundquist, a former Paralympic skier who lost his left leg to cancer as a child, is dressing up as the leg lamp from the 1983 classic A Christmas Story: From JoshSundquist.com   Sundquist, who competed in the 2006 Winter Paralympics in Turin and currently makes his living as an author and motivational speaker, has a knack for clever Halloween costumes. Two years ago he went as a gingerbread man who’d had a leg bitten off: From Sundquist’s Facebook page The post One-legged Paralympian Josh Sundquist Has The Best Halloween Costume of 2012…Bar None appeared first on Midwest Sports Fans.

Ohio State player wearing Kosta Karageorge's No. 53

Ohio State is in the Big Ten Championship Game today, but the program is still feeling the very recent loss of walk-on Kosta Karageorge, who was found dead last weekend. It has been an understandably emotional week for OSU, and one of Karageorge’s teammates, defensive tackle Michael Bennett, will be honoring him during today’s game in Indianapolis. Bennett has traded in his usual...

Although reports are bouncing around that New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Rob Ryan and his boss, head coach Sean Payton haven't been seeing eye to eye lately, Ryan says there's nothing at all to the story. NJIT pulls off shocking upset over No. 17 Michigan

The NJIT Highlanders, a 2-5 team that has only been playing Division I basketball for a few seasons, have pulled off easily the most shocking win of the young college basketball season. NJIT knocked off 17th-ranked Michigan in Ann Arbor Saturday afternoon, 72-70. The Highlanders shot 59% from the field, including 11-of-17 from 3-point land. Michigan also shot well from distance,...

Warriors owner: No one in organization liked Mark Jackson

By now it’s not a secret that the Golden State Warriors and former head coach Mark Jackson didn’t end their marriage on a high note. Jackson, who led the team to two consecutive playoff appearances and 51 wins a season ago, was fired following the playoffs this past spring. And despite Jackson’s success in Oakland, the Warriors have taken their performance to an entirely new...

Report: Anonymous teammate blasts Robert Griffin III

It’s becoming more and more difficult to see how the Robert Griffin III era in Washington can continue after this season.   Griffin was benched a couple of weeks ago in favor of Colt McCoy, and while reports indicated the Redskins haven’t given up on RG3 just yet, a TMZ Sports report Saturday morning indicates the locker room might indicate otherwise. An anonymous Redskins...

Cam Newton on struggles: ‘You realize rainy days don’t last’

To make the observation that the Carolina Panthers are in a horrible slump would be a drastic understatement. After last week’s 31-13 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, the Panthers have dropped six-straight games. The Panthers’ last victory was 31-24 win over the Chicago Bears all the way back on Oct. 5. The team tied the...Read More The post Cam Newton on season-long struggles...

Five questions to ask ahead of the MLB Winter Meetings

If you like being pelted with blurry pebbles of information for three or four days in a row (with the occasional blockbuster-ish boulder), prepare yourself: the Winter Meetings are coming. Every general manager in baseball will be at the Hilton Bayfront in San Diego Dec. 7–11, swapping names and tossing around enormous sums of money like playing cards. Alongside them, about...

Redskins tickets selling for as little as $1

To say that the Washington Redskins fan base is a little fed up would be an understatement. The team is now 3-9 on the season and is 6-22 since a surprising playoff campaign back in 2012. If you wanted evidence of a group of fans that really isn’t prepared to support this current product, there is no reason to look further than the ticket prices for Washington’s upcoming home...
