Players and Teams Who Never Should Have Been

Certain things just don't look right. Guys in skin-tight blue jeans. Crown Victoria sedans sitting on 26s. Carlos Beltran's hair.

The same can be said of athletes, particularly those who spent large portions of their career with one team and then put on a new and unfamiliar uniform...

What about Karl Baby's Daddy" Malone on the Lakers?

Was odd seing Malone in Laker colors and he still didn't get a title, did he?

We'd take him back for an honorary title... But only if he brings the puppet. :-) That Jimmy Kimmel puppet is THE SHIZZZZZZZZLE.

that was pretty painful memory for you to bring up! i like to try and forget we traded Ewing to seattle :-( the downturn to a once good franchise

How about gary peyton joinging the lakers...
Or shaq becoming a sun.... lol

Wait, MJ played on the Bulls before the Wiz? Seriously?

Even though I love the Ravens, Steve McNair would make sense on this list. I bet it was hard for Titans fans to swallow.

whats wrong with beltran's hair??

marcus allen as a chef, beltrans hair rules

Marcus as a Chief and Joe Montana as a Chief.

that actually wasnt a typo, we called em the Chefs here in southern Cali, Montana actually had a lil bit of success in KC but it was totally starnge not seeing him in the SF 49ers uni

That was from the Snickers ad. The guy painting the end zones put in a lot of effort into his work, only for a player to come over and say, "Hey, that's great...but who are the Chefs?" "Great googly moogly!" "Not going anywhere for a while?" :-D

That was my first thought as soon as I read the article. Montana as a Chief.
It was odd, even though he did well. Just couldn't see him anything other than a 49er.

agree on baby mama malone. stockton to...wait, where'd he go? Karl? Karl? What do you mean he's in LA?

Karl Malone was IN L.A. last wk and I actually saw him at my friend's smog shop with a friend of his... I

Knicks fans ran Ewing out. Probably because he was good.

Great list. Rice as a Seahawk or Olajawon as a Raptor takes the cake, but how about Joe Montana as a Chief?

we mentioned Montana in the last paragraph, but didn't include him. for some reason, that one never bothered us as much as some of the others. he was still pretty good and the move made some sense at the time. easy for me to say as a non-West Coaster.

I also thought Steve Carlton as an Cleveland Indian was terrible. But What if Brett Farve comes back mid season but to replace Rex Grossman in Chicago?

blasphemy!!!

Montana with the Chiefs..........that was disturbing!

Eric Lindros with the Rangers.

Ricky Henderson with the Blue Jays

Emmitt Smith with AZ.

Scottie Pippen with the Rockets never seemed right to me.

And can't forget Cris Carter in his stint with the Dolphins a few years ago

That's be like Kobe going to play for the Knicks. Ughhhh.. perish the though.

Barry Bonds in a ... wait, no one will sign him. Nevermind.

MJ was the greatest Wizard ever, hands down.

Michael Vick in an orange jumpsuit?

LOL - No .. that uniform seems JUST RIGHT .. kinda like Papa Bear's porridge. LMAO

hahahahahaaaa, good one fiver! but after u found out what he did, the orange jumpsuit was perfect

Kevin Garnett as a Celtic! Does he refuse to win???

Oh how I used to love him on the Braves but how about Andrew Jones to the Dodgers? UGH! Retire already you fat bastard! You're KILLING US .... and our payroll. Maybe he should go on the Prince Fielder diet. :-) IDEA!

and andru tries to say that the weight isnt effecting his inability to hit right now........please he was 170 when he came up, now hes pushin what 230 240???

I was going to mention 'Nique's one year for Panathinaïkós, but somebody on the actual weblog already beat me to it. Oh well.

Brian Leetch grew up in Connecticut (outside Fairfield County) and went to BC. He came home to play for the Bruins. I understand that you guys are Rangers fans and that angers you, but I don't have a problem with Chris Drury wearing a Blueshirt, although I can't think of him playing for anyone else other than BU or the Avs, because he's from Fairfield County. Thus, he's also gone home.

totally with ya, gittle. good call. leetchy has strong NE roots.

How about culpepper with the Raiders, or moss with the raiders... lol

moss seemed to fit perfectly with the raiders IMO

Olajuwon kills me. What about Charles Oakley also??? And yea Steve McNair to the Ravens was a bit weird. That would be like Ray Lewis coming to Tennessee!! What about Ryan Perriloux to Jacksonville State? hah

My school plays him next year! Im a little scared.

Oakley to Toronto hurt. Anfernee Hardaway on the Knicks was strange also.

A.I with the nuggets, scottie pippen in portland, gary payton everywhere except seatlle

Oh and wherever Shaun Alexander goes is going to be pretty weird...

How about Barkley with the suns.... or Gretzky with the Rangers, or Griffey with the reds... and one more for football... How about Emmitt Smith with the cardinals!!!Thumbs up for me...

Got to disagree with all, but Emmitt. Barkley and KJ crushed it and took them to the finals, Gretzky and the Rangers seemed OK for some reason, and it's been so long that I've pretty much forgotten that Griffy was even on the Mariners.

Griffey on the reds wasnt big to me. Barkley for some reason either. Emmitt has already been said.

I can't believe no one has said Deion Sanders with the Ravens, and the Braves! It just didn't look right!

The Braves? That's with whom he spent the best years of his career (well, one; 1992)! You would rather see him with his first team (the Yankees)? No, I don't think you want to see pictures of him with the Evil Empire, although they stunk then. Similarly, you would have to say the same thing about him with the Reds or the Giants.

I was actually going to say Deion, just for the simple fact that he is a football player and it is weird seeing him in anything other than a football jersey. It would be like seeing Lebron in a football jersey. It would just be weird.
