-The Washington Capitals ensured their best two-way center will remain in the fold for a long time, re-signing Brooks Laich to a six-year, $27 million contract, worth an average cap hit of $4.5 million per season.
Laich, 27, was eligible for unrestricted free agency on July 1st, where his all-round would've attracted numerous suitors keen to bolster their depth at center.

Lightning RWs Hall, Wyman out Saturday
Tampa Bay Lightning right wings Adam Hall and J.T Wyman will sit out Saturday's game against the Montreal Canadiens.
Both players suffered upper body injuries in Thursday's loss to the Ottawa Senators.
Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman said Hall's injury appears to be more serious and he will undergo further evaluation in Tampa.

The Tampa Bay Lightning officially re-signs right wing, Adam Hall to a one-year deal on Wednesday. Hall, 30, joined the Lightning back on October 1st, 2007 as a free agent.

Hey Pens Fans,The injury bug has bitten again. Scuderi's finger "exploded" and he had to have surgery to repair it. It is listed as a fracture. He will miss a few weeks with this injury. Adam Hall underwent surgery for a sports hernia and will also miss a few weeks with his injury.
