Embree Joins the Major League Roster
After signing late in Spring Training, Alan Embree has resurfaced in the majors for the Red Sox. After calling up Fabio Castro on Monday, the Red Sox made the move to send him back down and bring up the veteran lefty. With another roster move looming on Saturday, it appears the Sox plan to keep Embree in the majors for a while, assuming he pitches well, which is always a question...

Embree Will Join Red Sox On Wednedsay
Alan Embree had said he would opt out of his contract on Friday if he wasn't called up to the Boston Red Sox before then.
Well now he doesn't have to worry about that as Terry Francona announced after Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Toronto Blue Jays that Embree had been called up from Triple-A Pawtucket. He'll take the place of Fabio Castro on the Red Sox 25-man roster...

Embree sticking around... for now
Alan Embree could have opted out of his contract yesterday and tried to hook on with another team... but right now it looks like he'll stick around for a couple more weeks (final item in link) in an effort to to stick with the Sox.
The way the Sox pen has started out... Embree probably sees an opportunity if he hangs out for a little while.
