Boston without a pair of big men Monday against Timberwolves

Celtics win bar fight vs Bulls / Warriors await! / Green Stats analysis

When the Celtics eked out a tie after one quarter, you might have reasonably concluded that the Bulls were gonna be toast, as the Cs early on missed almost every non-point-blank shot (and some that were point blank), while allowing Chicago to take WIDE OPEN jumpers from pretty much everywhere. Obviously, the Celts would tighten up and blow these guys away, right?Didn't happen. This...

Celtics contract extension candidates

Throughout the year, people always anticipate the upcoming offseason, and then the following offseason. Fans love to fantasize about what their team can do because anyone with $30 million in cap space has a shot at LeBron James or Kevin Durant. However, realistically, they are going nowhere unless something drastically changes. One way for the Boston Celtics to prepare for the...

Celtics Wrap: Spurs Fend Off Boston’s Late Flurry In 108-105 C’s Loss

The Boston Celtics likely aren’t much for moral victories, but one could argue Saturday night was their most impressive loss of the season. The Celtics gave one of the NBA’s best teams a run for their money at AT&T Center, trailing the San Antonio Spurs by double digits for most of the game but cutting that lead to one point with less than 10 seconds remaining. Celtics Notes: Amir Johnson Leads Impressive Defensive Effort Vs. Heat

The Boston Celtics take pride in their defense, and with good reason: They’re 0-7 this season in games in which they’ve allowed 100 or more points. Their latest loss of that variety came Sunday night to the Orlando Magic in a game that saw Orlando’s big men dominate in the paint and on the glass. But the Celtics flipped that script Monday night thanks to the efforts of their...

Celtics Notes: Boston’s Struggles On Offensive Glass Prove Costly

A lot of things didn’t go right for the Boston Celtics on Sunday night. But one aspect of the Celtics’ game that usually is solid was a major reason for the team’s 19-point loss to the Orlando Magic. The Magic out-rebounded the Celtics 54-34 and made their presence felt most on the offensive glass, where they pulled down 17 offensive rebounds to Boston’s nine. Orlando made...

Furious Brad Stevens blasts Celtics after lackluster game

It takes a lot to make Brad Stevens angry, but the Boston Celtics somehow managed to do just that. The Celtics were run out of the gym Tuesday night in a 24-point loss to the Atlanta Hawks on national television. The defeat came on the heels of a 10-point loss to the lowly Brooklyn Nets on Sunday and was Boston’s third loss in four contests. Stevens usually is mild-mannered,...
