Payton finally decides on UCLA
Welcome to Signing Day 2012.
If you thought 2011 was crazy with everyone standing by on "Mamba Watch," in anticipation of where then-Crenshaw running back De'Anthony Thomas would end up, Oaks Christian wide receiver Jordan Payton pulled a hat out of a hat out of a hat on Wednesday morning.
A day after announcing on national television that he would be attending...

Did You Know? 10-9-09
Johnny Knox is the first Bears rookie wide receiver to score a touchdown in three straight games since Willie Gault did so in 1983. Only three other Bears (at another position) have accomplished the feat: Running backs Walter Payton in 1975, Anthony Thomas in 2001 and Matt Forte in 2008.
A-Team Thomas
Sign him up! Anthony Thomas is staying on board with the Bills. He's got 6 years under his belt but he's not the rocket rookie running back of 2001. I wonder what the Bears rushing numbers will look like if Thomas stays in the driver's seat.

The Black Mamba Strikes Thrice
In a game where the Ducks struggled to kick their high-octane offense in to high gear in the first half, true freshman running back/wide receiver De’Anthony Thomas helped light the offensive charge Thursday night in No. 9 Oregon’s 43-15 win over the California Golden Bears.

Waiver-Wire Pickups, Keeper Sleepers and Spot Starts: Week 12
All right, we've reached week 12 of the NFL season and to be honest with you, free agent pickups are most likely not going to help your team all that much at this point. However, I'll still give you a few players that made an impact (or the headlines) this past weekend and should be available in your league (just in case!):

Does WSU Have a Heisman Candidate in 2012?
Hello Followers. Hope you’re having a great week!
Well amidst all the signings, defections, and the emergence of new connections, I thought that it was time to do what it is that I do best: Take the path of least resistance (e.g. steal someone else's ideas).
So, today I take a page right out of Ted Miller’s playbook as I give you my early season Pac-12 favorites to win...

Buffalo Bills 2007 Fantasy Football Year in Review
2007 was expected to present a pivotal season for the Buffalo Bills. Expectations had risen due to an influx of young talent on both sides of the ball. Quarterback J.P. Losman was poised for a breakthrough season. The club hoped it finally found its future franchise running back in 1st round pick Marshawn Lynch, while relieving themselves of disgruntled running back Willis McGahee...

46th Most Memorable Chicago Bears Game
46th Most Memorable Chicago Bears Game since 1979
NFC Divisional Playoff: Eagles 33, Bears 19: January 19, 2002
Chicago was awash in Bears fever, as the Bears were in the playoffs for the first time since 1994. And they hadn’t just snuck in with help from another team as they did that season. The 2001 Bears had finished 13-3 and pulled off many stunning victories. At...

Oregon Looks to be the Bearer of More Bad News for Missouri State
Coming off of a dominating 69-20 win over Nevada, the #12 Oregon Ducks have begun their road back to earning respect in the minds of football fans around the country.
It is not often that a team that has gone 23-5 in the past 2-plus seasons can be considered by so many to be irrelevant, but after back to back losses at the hands of SEC powerhouses Auburn and LSU many consider the...

Sixth Most Memorable Chicago Bears Game
6th Most Memorable Chicago Bears Game Since 1979
Bears 37, 49ers 31: October 28, 2001
This matchup featured two of the surprise teams of the NFC in 2001, with the Bears and 49ers both holding 4-1 records. Perhaps this game would figure later into who was one of the most dominant teams in the conference that season. But on this day it would end as one of the most memorable games...

Laying the Foundation: USC Football Recruiting (Why The Delay Lane?)
Before going any further, it should be noted with abundant emphasis that Lane Kiffin, Ed Orgeron and the entire USC recruiting staff have done a marvelous job of swaying excellent prep talent to verbally commit to the Trojans.
USC already has six pledges from highly regarded prep players including the star of the six, cornerback/running back DeAnthony Thomas.

James injures right arm in Ducks' win
LaMichael James ran for 239 yards and a touchdown before he was carted off the field after injuring his right arm, dampening No. 9 Oregon's 43-15 victory over California on Thursday night.
The nation's leading rusher went down early in the fourth quarter and trainers stabilized his arm in a sleeve as fans chanted his name. The Ducks (4-1, 2-0 Pac-12) were driving for their...

Pac-12 Week 7 Previews
Hey everybody, I’m back with another week of Pac-12 predictions. I followed up my stellar 5-0 Week 5 with a rather impressive 4-1 Week 6. To be fair, the only game I blew during Week 6 was the Oregon State vs. Arizona game. How was I to know that the winless Beavers were going to play the game of their season against an Arizona team that had been scorching opponents...

Oregon flashes familiar fireworks, and its season flashes before its eyes
Oregon 43, California 15.
If there was a theme tonight (one that didn't have to do with the Ducks' uniforms, anyway), it should have been the official return of the Oregon Death Star on a national stage. The last time we saw the Ducks' warp-speed offense on national television, it was being methodically snuffed out by LSU in a season-opening loss that effectively ended...

The center-of-the-Pac-universe game Saturday night between Oregon and Arizona State turned out about as expected, with the Ducks pulling away in the second half for a relatively comfortable 41-27 win after an entertaining and competitive first 30 minutes.

No. 12 Ducks Down Bears, 56-7
LaMichael James ran for 204 yards and three touchdowns, including a 90-yarder, and No. 12 Oregon cruised to a 56-7 victory over Missouri State on Saturday. James' 90-yard dash was Oregon's longest run since 1938. The Heisman Trophy finalist from last season also had a 1-yard TD in the first quarter and a 50-yarder in the third. Darron Thomas threw for 206 yards and three...

Sun Devils get a jump on Pac-12 South
By Matt Swartz
With three Pac-12 teams having a bye week, the two most interesting and probably most important conference games of the weekend kicked off at about the same time Saturday night in Arizona.
