Dallas Stars: Eakin, Roussel, and Garbutt playing playoff hockey

The Dallas Stars won their previous two games in Dallas by scores of 3-0 and 4-2. This tied the series with the Anaheim Ducks at 2 games a piece. Antoine Roussel is one of many Stars players who are frustrating the Anaheim Ducks. (Labeled for reuse: The Hockey New) The Anaheim Ducks haven’t particularly cared for the style of play that Dallas has been executing, however. Cody...

Hey It’s The Playoffs

from Mark Spector of Sportsnet, The Stars (cover your ears, kids) had clearly instigated facial contact with Anaheim’s best player and captain, and a Stars player, Antoine Roussel, was witnessed actually swinging back when Getzlaf snapped and started punching him in the face. Imagine — in a hockey game, no less. Egads. “Our team wouldn’t do that” was the thrust...

Corey Perry, Antoine Roussel Fight In Ducks-Stars Game 4 (GIF)

Antoine Roussel is quickly becoming one of the most hated players in the NHL, and with the Dallas Stars up 4-2 late in the third period of Wednesday night’s Game 4, Anaheim Ducks forward Corey Perry had enough of him. The two players dropped their gloves for a rare playoff fight. It was a pretty even bout, but Roussel earns a small edge for getting the takedown. This fight comes...

The Anaheim Ducks Are Unhappy With The Physical Play Of The Dallas Stars

from Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News, Game 3 between the Stars and Ducks featured four roughing penalties, two slashing penalties and three 10-minute misconduct penalties, and Anaheim coach Bruce Boudreau blamed the Stars for that. “I think it was pretty obvious out there,” Boudreau said when asked if the Stars crossed the line. “We’ve warned the refs about...

NHL Playoff Observations -- Monday

Just a few things that caught my eye: Antoine Roussel has the biggest coconuts I think I've seen in a while. He popped Ryan Getzlaf in the mask not once, but twice. Hard. That move is either going to inspire his team or make the Quackers very, very angry. It's Miller time. And by that I mean time for a brain fart. He was great AFTER that stinker he let between...

I guess no one reminded Ducks forward Ryan Getzlaf that he had a bunch of stitches in his chin, right. It's got to be hard not to punch out a player like Antoine Roussel, when you play against him. Dallas Stars: Playoffs in their Future?

Tonight, the Dallas Stars were in a game against the St. Louis Blues that could potentially be a playoff berth for the Stars. For quite some time, they have been in a race for the last playoff spot in the Western Conference, with the Phoenix Coyotes who have been hot on Dallas’ tail all season. The reason I feel they are in this position lies in the roster.  Last year when the...
