McDyess, 37, indicated last season that his playing days were likely coming to an end.
The second overall pick in the 1995 draft, McDyess averaged 12 points and 7.5 rebounds in his career with the Denver Nuggets, Phoenix Suns, Detroit Pistons, New York Knicks and Spurs.
