Trade Rumor: Pat Burrell for Armando Benitez?
This would be a salary move for both teams. Burrell is owed $27 million over the next two seasons and because of health problems (foot) would likely move to first base, a glaring hole for the Giants. Benitez is owed $7.6 million next year and would give the Phillies another arm in the pen. I don't know if this is anything but speculation at this point, but on paper it makes sense...

Same Old Armando Benitez
Do you ever get a sinking feeling watching a baseball game? The feeling that you know something bad is going to happen and no matter how many different Gods you pray to, no matter how many breaks your team gets, no matter how many times you tell yourself that it's going to be okay that something bad is going to happen. There is no way to justify your feelings or explain why you...

The Yankees-Orioles “Benitez Bean Ball Brawl” in Its Glorious Entirety
This is the infamous Armando Benitez beaning of Tino Martinez in 1998 that led to a bafflingly long, maniacal brawl we're rarely fortunate enough to witness in a baseball game. As you may recall, Benitez drilled Tino in the center of his back with what had to be at least a mid-90s fastball, exactly one [...]

Zito goes down......
Well the good news is Barry is out of the starting rotation.........the bad news???
Visions of Armando Benitez flutter through my brain as I imagine the Giants clinging to leads only to watch them evaporate faster than box of Slim Jims on Rosie O'Donnells night stand. This is not a good idea.

Armando Benitez’ Eventful Return To Affiliated Baseball
Sunday evening I took a little time out from panhandling and attended my first ballgame in a few weeks, as I witnessed Memphis defeat Round Rock, 6-1. Stop calling me Armando Benitez!
Oh, don't you worry. I did not forget about this. So someone finally showed up at the Yankee offices this winter and made some moved this past weekend. It's about time. I thought that Brian Cashman was dead. He's not, though, he just still looks like a raccoon corpse. Now I'm not your average mouthbreathing Yankees fan. You...

Royals Faithful Already Calling for Farnsworth "Boycott"
I always find it's enlightening, entertaining and often quite humorous, to take a stroll through the InterWebs once in awhile and hear about teams and players you may not frequently see or read about in your own home market. What a familiar site, Phillies jersey #5 rounding the bases as a Mets pitcher puts his head down. If you look up Mets killer you will find Pat Burrell as the first example.
