Michigan expects 2 key players back for opener
Michigan coach Brady Hoke says he has ''no doubt'' running back Fitzgerald Toussaint and cornerback Blake Countess will be healthy enough to start the 2013 season.
Toussaint broke his left leg in a game five months ago and Countess tore a knee ligament in last year's opener. Both were able to participate in non-contact drills this spring, but were not cleared...
Spring Practice Day 1
On a Michigan weather day like this, it's nice to have one of these.
Welp, it's on.
We've discussed before, the virtues of dissecting each and every frame from these practice videos. However, since media/public is banned from attending even a single minute of practice inside Fort Schembechler, these videos are all we got.
Also, mgospringroster lives here. ...

I don't know if you'd heard, but the dead period began a few days ago and will run a week or so into January. So unfortunately, recruiting news will be somewhat non-existent for the next few weeks. But with the holiday season coming up, a little break makes sense. So in that...
Team 133 by the Numbers
What numbers stand out to me as the 2012 regular season comes to and end?
8-4
Of course, the record. Many pegged Michigan for, at minimum, 2 or 3 losses. I think 4 is certainly close enough to not make the entire season a disappointment. But those 4 losses came at the hands of teams that have achieved more (and in some cases, much more) success than Michigan has this year. To...
Michigan's Health, Fitz Toussaint and important takeaways from Brady Hoke presser
Here are some huge takeaways from the Michigan football pressers, even including the ones that seem absolutely loaded with BS. Like it seems all coaches are scripted to do unless the conflicting approach has the cover blown off of it prematurely, Brady Hoke says all of his guys are a-ok! The transcription is courtesy of MGoBlog. How’s your health coming out of the bye? “I feel...

The hits keep coming in Ann Arbor.
Saturday the Wolverines for demolished by Alabama in front of the entire country, effectively ending their chances of playing for a national title and capitalizing on Urban Meyer's one year vacation from postseason dominance in Columbus.

Thoughts on Alabama and Blogger's Reaction
National reaction to Michigan's crushing 41-14 loss to Alabama on Saturday night has been slightly less brutal than I thought it would be. Oh, don't get me wrong, the Alabama-SEC love fest is already in mid-season form, but the Michigan pundits have subscribed to a "wait and see" approach before dropping their atom bombs on Ann Arbor.
That hasn't stopped...

University of Michigan football sophomore cornerback Blake Countess (Owings Mills, Md./Our Lady of Good Counsel) will miss the remainder of the 2012 season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament suffered in last Saturday’s game against Alabama. The loss to the Crimson Tide was bad enough, but now there’s injury added to insult for the Wolverines.

We should have seen this coming
What seemed like a good idea two years ago and we were cautiously excited about after going 11-2 last season, was in reality a disaster from start to finish on Saturday night. Michigan forced a three-and-out on Alabama’s first drive, but it quickly went downhill from there. We all know the story. We all watched in disbelief as the snowball got bigger and bigger and became an avalanche...

#2 Alabama 41 – #8 Michigan 14: Tide sweeps Michigan out to sea
Despite forcing Alabama into a three-and-out on its first series and looking like they could be formidable opponent, the Michigan defense was completely overmatched the rest of the night. They did record two sacks (and Will Campbell was looking quite nimble on his) but they were dominated up front by the best offensive line in the country.
Alabama's defense gave Michigan no room...
