Watson can't say sorry enough in Europe
The Europeans have been gloating over the success of their golfers in the Ryder Cup, the majors and the World Golf Rankings against their counterparts from the United States in recent years. Perhaps they simply have had enough of the Ugly American golfer, from Johnny McDermott and Bobby Jones in the early days of the 20th century to Tiger Woods and Bubba Watson in this one.

Is Sergio growing up at last?
Ten years ago, a dashing young Spaniard stood in front of a full-length mirror in the locker room at Southern Hills and spent an inordinate amount of time adjusting his hat so it looked just right.
Some of his fellow competitors rolled their eyes as they walked by, but Sergio Garcia, then just 21, didn't care.
He was getting ready for his close-up.
Coming off his first tour win...

Today in Philly Sports History: Nets Eliminate Sixers, 1984
Many NBA enthusiasts consider the 1982-1983 Sixers, who went 12-1 in the 1983 playoffs and swept the Lakers in the finals for the franchise's first championship in sixteen years, one of the best single-season teams to ever take the court. With Julius Erving, Mo Cheeks, Andrew Toney, Bobby Jones, and the recently-added Hall-of-Fame center Moses Malone, the team looked to have a core...

Original Old School: The Year of Living Dangerously
He was known as “Bad News Barnes,” and throughout the 1970’s, Marvin Barnes lived up to his nickname. The kid from Rhode Island was a viciously talented offensive machine, for one year, while playing in the ABA. Unfortunately, drugs, among a laundry list of shortcomings, derailed what could have been a brilliant career. Recently, Barnes has spoken with AOL Fanhouse...

Bobby Jones: My Adventures in Italy
What’s going on everybody back in the States, welcome to my blog. So I decided to document my current residency/trip to Teramo, Italy and blog it for everybody to view for different reasons. First reason, I want to look back at this experience years from now and remember exactly what I was thinking at that particular time in my life. Not wait as time pass or once I&rsquo...

Renaldo Balkman to the Nuggets?
The New York Knicks and Denver Nuggets have had serious talks discussing swapping former-first round pick Renaldo Balkman for point guard Taurean Green and small forward Bobby Jones. If the trade happens, the Knicks could cut Green and Jones, which would get them to 15 players, as well as saving $1.32 million dollars in cap space. Balkman has a team option for the 2009-2010 season...

Rumors and Free Agent Updates - Teams are Overpaying Edition
Marc Spears reports in the Globe that the Celtics are still interested in Darius Miles.
Miles hasn't played for 2 years after suffering what was diagnosed as a career ending injury. Unlike when the Celtics requested cap relief when Reggie Lewis died, the league granted the Blazers relief from Miles' salary. The fun part of this is that if Miles signs with a team and plays 10...

Day 81 of 170: Bobby Jones? Didn't You Use to Play Golf or Something?
Line of the Night: Ok, that quote above was fake. But I like to imagine that Baron Davis (6.0) has an alien from Mars inside his head too. Davis led the Warriors past the Bulls with 40 points off 13-23 shooting. He also had 6 threes, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. Surprising fact of the day: Davis' career high in points scored is only 40, which he tied yesterday. For some reason...
