Simmons out Quinn In
I’m not breaking any news here, just adding to the chatter, Bobby Simmons has been waived by the Spurs and replaced on the roster by Chris Quinn.
I’m thinking that Temple’s ball handling duties, limited though they were, are now practically non-existent; either that, or George Hill’s slow start and injury have led the Spurs to look for some help.

Spotted: Bobby Simmons In A L.E.P. Bogus Boys Music Video
You don’t get more Chicago than Bobby Simmons. He was born in Chicago, played high school ball (Simeon Career Academy) and college ball (DePaul University) in Chicago and spends his offseasons training in Chicago. So while you might think it’s a stretch for the NBA’s former Most Improved Player and nine-year vet to appear in [...]

Training camp profile: Bobby Simmons
Trey Gilder, we hardly knew ye.
Last week it was reported the San Antonio Spurs had brought Gilder in for a workout, which led most to deduce he'd be joining the team for their 2010-11 training camp.
Not so much.
In what is at the very least coincidental and in the very likely correlation, the Spurs and Bobby Simmons are now in the courting phase.
Popovich and the Spurs have...

Day 124 of 170: Revenge of the Nerds
The Biggest Loser: The Phoenix Suns. In the most obvious development since five-cent beer night in Cleveland, the Shaq trade has not worked out so well for the Suns (who are now 2-4 with him). Shaq (2.8), who was supposed to be rejuvenated playing in the West on a championship caliber team, plodded along to 8 points and 7 rebounds (with 4 turnovers) in the Suns latest 119-114 loss to the Sixers.

Simmons on the Spurs' training camp roster
Project Spurs' very own Michael De Leon was at the San Antonio Spurs' media day and reports NBA veteran Bobby Simmons is on the training camp roster.
Simmons is a forward who could be the back-up to Richard Jefferson. Last season he played in 23 games with the New Jersey Nets and averaged 5.3 points, 2.7 rebounds in 17.2 minutes. For his career, he has averaged 9.4 points...

Bobby Simmons to the Bulls? So long to Larry Hughes?
The Sun-Times is reporting that the Bulls are close to a deal sending Larry Hughes to NJ, in exchange for Bobby Simmons. Wow..... We're back on that championship trail now! It's still early before the trade deadline, so I will cut Paxson some slack. But, if his only idea of a trade is Hughes ...

Final Final Roster Predictions
Or: How I learned that I am not very good at guessing what the Spurs will do next
With Gist gone and Palmer (wtf?) coming in it is time to take a look at who makes the team to start the season.

Bobby Simmons and Charlie Bell: I know that I've mentioned this before, but it bears repeating: Simmons was Milwaukee's big free agent signing in the summer of 2005 (5 years, $49 million), and Bell was resigned - against his will, no less - by the Bucks last summer (five years, $18 million).
