Cincinnati Bengals Continue To Bring Back Their Talent On Open Market
The Cincinnati Bengals re-signed CB Terence Newman as an unrestricted free agent Monday.
Newman will enter his second season with the team and 11th year in the league in 2013. The 5-10, 192-pound cornerback spent his first nine NFL seasons with the Dallas Cowboys after being drafted in the first round out of Kansas State in 2003.
According to Joe Reedy with the Cincinnati Enquirer...

The Cincinnati Bengals have re-signed two of their own free agents, Adam Jones and Brandon Tate.
Bengals Re-Sign WR Brandon Tate
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Bengals have re-signed WR Brandon Tate to a one-year deal.
Tate, 25, tallied 13 receptions for 211 yards and a single touchdown last season. He also was a contributor on special teams were he averaged 24.8 yards per kick return.
It’s hard to imagine Tate having a major role in their offense, barring an injury, but he’s at...
Bengals Reportedly Agree To 1-Year Deal With WR Brandon Tate
It appears that the Bengals now have all of the major members of their special teams unit intact for 2013. After agreeing to deals with Clark Harris, Kevin Huber, Mike Nugent, Adam Jones and Cedric Peerman, the team has reportedly signed wide receiver/kick returner Brandon Tate to a one-year deal, per Ian Rapoport of NFL.com:
"The #Bengals have reached an agreement with...
Bengals Host WR/KR Ted Ginn On Thursday
While hosting quarterback Josh Johnson on Thursday, the Cincinnati Bengals also hosted former 49ers wide receiver and return specialist Ted Ginn Jr, according to multiple reports.
For his career Ginn has returned six touchdowns and as Geoff Hobson tweets, ideal for replacing Brandon Tate, who basically turned into a kickoff return specialist and a wide receiver deep on the Bengals...
Cincinnati Bengals free agent tracker
The clock has struck midnight, or in this case 4 p.m., and the new NFL calendar year has begun. With the new year comes the start of free agency. The Bengals have as much space under the NFLs 123 million salary cap as any team but their main goal, as stated by head coach Marvin Lewis at the combine, is to sign back as many of their own players as possible.
They will look around at...
Draft Strategy: Receivers
Until free agency begins in a few weeks, it is difficult to know just how the Bengals are crafting their approach to the draft. And the group that we could debate about most over what the right approach would be is the wide receivers.
The need for a receiver not named A.J. Green to be a legitimate threat on the field was the most discussed topic of last year’s offseason. It was...
Focus On: Wide Receivers
It’s one year later, and the question remains the same: who is the #2 receiver? That fact that we could list at least three names is evidence that there still isn’t one. This isn’t the only question facing the offense this off-season, but failing to find a good answer will continue the inconsistency in the passing game.
A.J. Green: signed through 2014
What can I say about him...
Fishing for Eagles news on a 4-10 kinda day...
There was a ton of NFL football to absorb on Sunday, even with the Birds not playing. I found myself using NFL football to escape the headlines from tragedies in the U.S.A. and around the world. I also found myself in the vice-grip of writer's block.
To make it worse, there's a cold fog over the Delaware Valley today. Grim. It feels like the perfect atmosphere for a 4...

After a crucial victory against the Eagles, the Cincinnati Bengals now have 9 days to prepare for their biggest game yet.The opportunistic Bengals defense pummeled Philadelphia's mistake-prone offense, forcing five turnovers en route to a 34-13 victory Thursday night. Andy Dalton threw for one touchdown & ran for another in what was a tightly contested game...until the end...
WDW Episode 89 – A Giant Win for the Bengals Hopes
The Bengals got a huge boost this weekend with a huge or shall we say, GIANT, win over the G-Men 31-13 Sunday at PBS. The tone was set early as Andy “Red” Dalton ended the game with an early strike to AJ Green to go up 7-0. Guess he had a pretty good idea about the size of those holes in the Giants secondary. Thank god we have the best WR in the game. Next up for the Bengals...
Armon Binns a Healthy Scratch
Bengals wide receiver Armon Binns is a healthy scratch in Week 10.Fantasy Spin:It appears he has lost the starting spot to Mohamed Sanu and Brandon Tate.
Bengals CB Dre Kirkpatrick active vs Broncos
Bengals cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick is active for the first time this season, ready to make his NFL debut against the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
Kirkpatrick hasn't played because of a knee injury suffered over the summer. The first-round pick hadn't been active for any game so far.
Brandon Tate starts at receiver in place of Armon Binns, who missed the last game with an injured...
Bengals know that no game is easy in the NFL
BEREA, Ohio - An 0-5 Cleveland Browns team figures to be a very dangerous Cleveland Browns team Sunday, when the Bengals come to Cleveland for what both teams regard as a must-have.The vibe from Bengals coach Marvin Lewis on a conference call Wednesday was one of anything but overconfidence. In response to a question about the Bengals possibly looking past the Browns, Lewis offered...
Dolphins-Bengals Inactives
As the Bengals prepare to face the Dolphins at PBS in about 30 minutes, here’s a quick glance at the inactives.
The Bengals are sitting some of the usual suspects, particularly DB’s Dre Kirkpatrick and Jason Allen, both of whom are still recovering from injuries. They’ve been down pretty much all year, so its no surprise. The good news is that Leon Hall and Nate Clements...
Week Three Hit List
I hope you will forgive me as I know I’m a little late with this week’s hit list (by 3 days). My “regular” job sometimes requires me to travel to far-off exotic lands where people speak in strange tongues and practice odd customs.
This week it was New Jersey.
Anyway, the Bengals won a very strange affair last Sunday in Washington, and “survived” several scares...
Week Two Hit List
That breeze that blew through Bengaldom this week wasn’t a tornado, but a collective sigh of relief as the team managed to—just barely—beat an outmanned and outgunned Browns squad at PBS in the home opener. The Bengals were able to win the game while allowing rookie Brandon Weeden to put up 322 yards passing, and making rookie running back Trent Richardson look like Jim...
Bengals finding help for WR A.J. Green
CINCINNATI (AP) -- The Bengals have found plenty of help for A.J. Green.
The Pro Bowl receiver has been the focus of opposing defenses in the first two games, giving the other receivers a chance to emerge. So far, they've done very well.
Andy Dalton threw three touchdown passes Sunday during a 34-27 win over Cleveland, but the biggest plays didn't involve Green. Andrew Hawkins...
Bengals finding complements for WR A.J. Green
The Bengals have found plenty of help for A.J. Green.

Team effort spurs Bengals' big day
CINCINNATI - Besides drafting two rookies who have yet to crack the regular rotation, the Bengals kept their offseason search for a receiver to complement A.J. Green in-house.
Sunday's results indicate they didn't find one. They found two or three.
A depleted Browns secondary allowed Green to catch 7 passes for 58 yards Sunday, but the daggers came from the other guys...
Bengals 34, Browns 27

North Carolina Football: Heels in the Pro’s recap (Sept 10, 2012)
After the doubleheader that ESPN had last night we can close out the first week of pro football. Plenty of former North Carolina football players were in action during the first week of the NFL, while an extra has been picked up right after the end of the week by the Buffalo Bills. In this post we are going to check out what the two former Tar Heels did in the Monday Night double...
Observations From Week 1 -or- Not As Bleak As It Seems
Well that sucked.
[BTW, sorry to be away from you all for so long. Sometimes life gets in the way of the fun things. Thankfully I see the light at the end of that tunnel approaching for me.]
It’s easy to get down about a 31-point loss. There is no denying that some things went very wrong in this opening game of the season. As obvious as the might be, I will point a couple of them...
North Carolina Football: Heels in the Pro’s (Sept 10, 2012)
The first Monday of the NFL is here, which means the television is now handled by the world leader in sports, and ESPN will have not just one game but a pair of them. Both of them having a former North Carolina football player in action. As usual I have used the combination of UNC Pro’s and ourlads web sites to get my information, along with some stuff I gathered as well. But now...
Five Keys to an Opening Win
The waiting is finally over! Tonight the Bengals begin their 2012 journey on Monday Night Football from the very unfriendly confines of M&T Stadium in Baltimore.
The Bengals couldn’t have (and probably wouldn’t have) asked for a more challenging way to open the season. Baltimore hasn’t lost a regular season home game since 2009, and the Ravens return a top 10 defense...
