Pirates activate Donnelly, place Taschner on DL

The Pittsburgh Pirates have activated relief pitcher Brendan Donnelly from the 15-day disabled list, and have placed relief pitcher Jack Taschner on the 15-day disabled list with a tight left hamstring. Brendan Donnelly Retires

And a sad day it is, too, as Brendan Donnelly hangs 'em up. He had a 5.58 ERA with Pittsburgh last year. Donnelly picked up two World Series rings, one with then-Anaheim and a second with Boston in 2007, a World Series win in 2002 Game 6 (the best World Series game played this century, IMO). A great reliever.
