2012 Tigers Preview: The Outfield
Our Tigers preview continues with the outfield. With players back from injury, the starters are set. Brennan Boesch should be good after the thumb injury ended his 2011 season, Delmon Young’s oblique is healed up and Austin Jackson looks to put a tough offensive season behind him.

Meet the 2012 Detroit Tigers Starters… Video Game Worthy!
The 2012 Detroit Tigers are going to be the most exciting team to watch in the majors this year, and it will be almost video game like to watch this year! It seems like Mr. Ilitch and company have assembled a team that is built to bash teams out of the park. The only question is… will it work?
If you take a look at the current roster and batting lineup, you will see nothing...

Boesch fantasy value impacted by Fielder
While "The Descendents" starring George Clooney is up for best picture this Oscar season, "The Descendants" starring Prince Fielder is up most shocking offseason acquisition.
Heck, Tigers general manager Dave Dombrowski was quoted saying he would consider bringing Prince to Detroit, but was "probably not a good fit" days before news broke on Cecil&...

Prince and Other Matters
I'm not ready to declare Detroit the 2012 World Series Champions.
Last week I was very concerned about a lack of protection for Miguel Cabrera in the Tigers lineup. I believed that the loss of Victor Martinez was a huge loss from the middle of the batting order. Martinez drove in over 100 runs and hit well the entire season. He was probably the only other hitter in the...

Tigers OF Boesch healthy after thumb surgery
Detroit Tigers outfielder Brennan Boesch said he is healthy and ready for the start of spring training.
Boesch had his season cut short in 2011 after tearing a ligament in his right thumb. He underwent surgery in September.
The 26-year-old Boesch told the Detroit News that he started to swing normally last month.
In 115 games last season, Boesch batted .283 with 16...

The Detroit Tigers visit Detroit's Children's Hospital
And this, my friends, is what being a professional athlete is all about. It's about using your incredible talent to hit a 95mph two seam fastball tailing into your body to make little kids smile. It's about using your "status" within your community to give others who are not as well off as you are the hope that one day they can be. It's about showing that you're a normal person...

Perhaps the hitter to replace Victor Martinez already is here. Perhaps he's Brennan Boesch -- a healthy and confident Boesch.

Victor Martinez a big loss, but Tigers think they can overcome injury
Then, as Cabrera continued to talk to reporters on Thursday at Comerica Park, he gave many reasons he thought the Tigers could overcome the expected season-long loss of Martinez: Sound pitching. Front-office expertise. And several hitters from whom he expected big years: Delmon Young, Brennan Boesch, Alex Avila and Austin Jackson.

Cabrera: "There is no panic"
Detroit -- Miguel Cabrera and his teammates aren't that concerned about who will bat behind him, they're more worried about Victor Martinez.
Cabrera and the Tigers got a chance to discuss the recent bad news before they left Comerica Park and headed out to various stops on their Winter Caravan.

Detroit Tigers: biggest trouble is the top 3
As the offseason has ground itself into a near standstill, the Detroit Tigers still have one big question left to answer.
Yes, the pitching staff should be very good and probably a top 5 rotation throughout the season. In fact, they were recently ranked the 7th best rotation in the game and they still don’t have a 5th starter. Detroit got by in 2011 with a subpar effort from Phil...

Lost In Right Field
The sun has finally set on the Chiefs horrendous up and down season. The countdown to the Major League Baseball season can finally begin. Well at least for those of us in Kansas City. Now let’s turn our focus to the Royals. This week baseball fans saw reports from Buster Olney ranking the ten best of everything. Our Kansas City Royas came in number 9 in his outfield rankings...

Player Profile #198: Brennan Boesch | OF | DET
For two seasons now Boesch has put up very good numbers in the first half followed by a disappointing second half. It’s the reason why he’s more of a late-round flier than anything else. We’ll have to see how his power comes back after tearing a thumb ligament that forced him to miss the final 1 1/2 months last year. In his career he has 605 at-bats in either...

Delving Deeper into Delmon Young
When the Detroit Tigers traded for Delmon Young in mid-August, I was ecstatic, as many Tigers fans were. We had just gotten a young power hitting outfielder with potential for seemingly nothing, and Brennan Boesch had been recently diagnosed with a thumb injury, one which the Tigers’ staff had no clue the severity of. Magglio Ordonez was also amidst a season-long struggle...

TigsTown 2011 Player Capsule: Brennan Boesch
After a blistering first half of 2010, Brennan Boesch had an equally frigid second half, leaving many to wonder what type of player the Tigers would get in 2011. Boesch for the most part split the difference at the plate with a solid overall season, but some questions still linger.

Brennan Boesch Player Projection No. 141
Key Stats: Brennan Boesch is going to be 27 years old and has just completed his 2nd “full” year of big league play. He gave us a solid .283/.341/.458 slash line in 2011 good enough for him to be deserving of a roster spot in 10 team leagues. He increased his power last season hitting two more HR’s in 40 less AB’s over the previous season while also striking out less. We...

Fantasy Baseball 2012: Left Fielders
Different fantasy baseball sites treat outfielders differently. Most include specific positions as a part of their basic packages. In other words, you will need someone that qualifies in left field, right field, and center field. Others only force you to start three generic outfielders. Most include a kind of hybrid of the two.
I’ve some comments on my rankings. Some disagree...
