Could Bryan McCabe Resign with the Rangers?
Barbs asks: Do you think the Rangers will try and re-sign McCabe this summer? The dude has been money from the point on the power play.
Yup, Caber sure as hell has been a welcomed addition to the Rangers power play. In a matter of two games, he's completely changed the mentality on the man advantage. He effectively gets rubber on net and has a knack for getting the puck through traffic...

Getting to Know Bryan McCabe
When the Rangers acquired Bryan McCabe from the Florida Panthers yesterday, they didn't just acquire any old trade deadline rental. They acquired a veteran defenseman who is a proven leader and is tough nails. Case in point; McCabe caught a face full of puck during a game in January and broke his jaw, but he only missed one shift after a trainer put a protective cage on his helment...

McCabe Delivers Slap (shot), Fire Rangers Needed to Wake Up In Critical Game (w/video)
Tom Mihalek/Associated Press
When the New York Rangers
acquired Bryan McCabe just before the trade deadline they did so with the
intent of using his experience and leadership to add another piece to a young
defense core. Even more important than
that was the belief that his huge shot from the point could help to solidify
their struggling power play...

Richard Cloutier: Rumor: McCabe to Oilers Becoming More Possible
I got in a long conversation today with someone utterly random, but they insist they are connected and knowledgeable about the Oilers defensive situation heading into this season. What was discussed is as follows: - The Oilers have been trying for two months to make a major move to add a significant top pairing defenseman. However, there has been a snag in that a number of teams...

Season Review: New York Rangers Defensemen Bryan McCabe
Jesse Spector over at the New York Daily News posted a season review of New York Rangers defensemen Bryan McCabe. Then it all fell apart. In the last nine games of the regular season, the Rangers were 1-for-27 on the power play. Granted, McCabe did have that one goal, the buzzer-beater at the end of [...]

McCabe Acquisition Paying Off
Getty ImagesVeteran defenseman Bryan McCabe has only played five games since being acquired by the Rangers back on February 26, but he has quickly had a positive impact on this hockey club in many ways. David Kalan of NHL.com recently looked at all of the trade deadline acquisitions throughout the league and how they have performed for their respective teams. Bryan McCabe got high...

McCabe Impact On Power Play Goes Beyond The Numbers
Normally I agree with George Ays of Tracking the Rangers when he says, “Numbers don’t lie, they just don’t agree with you.” One place where I don’t agree, at least not yet, is in terms of the impact Bryan McCabe has had on the New York Rangers power play. It has been five games and the stats say the man advantage is still struggling only converting on 3 of 20 (15%)...

Did Rangers Have Deal For McCabe Before Injury?
There has been a lot of talk about the Rangers and defensemen that might be available through trades. The hot name right now is Florida’s Bryan McCabe and that talk got more intriguing today with the report from Andy Stickland on his blog at True Hockey in which he wrote that multiple sources confirmed there was a deal in place between the Rangers and the Panthers before McCabe...

Richard Cloutier: McCabe Practicing with Oilers in Edmonton?
I'll start today's blog by making a few random comments, followed by commenting on Bryan McCabe's situation.
- Horrifying news coming out of Russia regarding the crash of a plane with a KHL team on board. The entire hockey world shares in the sadness of this event, from now what must be considered Hockey's Summer from Hell. My thoughts are with the player's wives, children...

Rangers trade for defenseman McCabe
In the midst of a tight playoff race in the Eastern Conference, the Rangers have made a move to significantly boost their chances of playing more than 82 games this season. They have acquired defenseman Bryan McCabe from the Florida Panthers for a 3rd round draft pick and center Tim Kennedy, who had been playing in the AHL after signing with the Rangers in the offseason. Not only...

Panthers Trade McCabe to Rangers.
The New York Rangers addressed their need for a hard-shooting, experienced blueliner, acquiring Bryan McCabe from the Florida Panthers in exchange for forward Tim Kennedy and a third round pick in 2011.
McCabe, 35, agreed to waive his "no-movement" clause to accept the trade, the second time he's done so under this current contract. The last time was in September 2008...

No Deal for McCabe Yet, Rangers Don't Need Him
I'm sure many of you woke up to a barrage of "McCabe to Rangers" rumors this morning. Based on what I have seen personally, it is getting out of hand, so I felt it was necessary to clear things up for you and bring out the truth on the current situation. According to multiple (legitimate) outlets, there is no deal currently in place to bring Bryan McCabe to the New York Rangers....

Why is Bryan McCabe still a free agent?
(Photo credit: clydeorama )There are still a few good free agents out there for NHL rosters to snap up. The most shocking Player in my mind still remaining on that list is Bryan McCabe. Can someone please enlighten me as to why McCabe is still a free agent? I realize the St. Catherine's, Ontario native is getting up there in years at 36 years of age and his cap-hit was $5.75 million...

Pending Free Agents: Bryan McCabe
AP PhotoVeteran defenseman Bryan McCabe was acquired by the Rangers on February 26, just two days prior to the 2011 NHL Trade Deadline, mainly for one reason. That reason was to help quarterback the Blueshirts' struggling powerplay and give them the cannon of a shot from the point that they were lacking. In 19 regular season games with the Rangers, he scored twice on the powerplay...

Bryan McCabe is the Rangers Best Option
The Rangers need to focus their efforts on Bryan McCabe. In their hunt to acquire a veteran, power play oriented defenseman, the Rangers have seen Tomas Kaberle, Eric Brewer, and Ian White among others fly off the board. Sheldon Souray was placed on waivers this weekend, but hopefully the voice of reason will be loud enough to keep the Rangers from claiming him. If the reports that...

McCabe Willing to Waive No-Movement Clause for Rangers
According to Nik Kypreos of Sportsnet, Bryan McCabe is willing to waive his no-movement clause to goto the Rangers. Arthur Staple of Newsday concurs noting that McCabe is only willing to goto the Rangers, although there is yet to be a deal in place.
Taking this with a grain of salt, it's the perfect scenario for the Rangers. With McCabe controlling his fate and taking a hardline...

As per TSN, the New York Rangers have officially acquired defenseman Bryan McCabe from the Florida Panthers in exchange for Tim Kennedy and a third-round draft pick in 2011.
