In a snow-filled Lincoln Financial Field, the Eagles took on the Detroit Lions in an important NFC Conference matchup. Both teams sat at 7-5 entering today’s contest very well alive in the playoff hunt. The Eagles were sitting nicely considering they were tied for first in the NFC East.
While the topic of conversation was all on Calvin Johnson, Reggie Bush, and the Lions high-powered...
Sunday’s marquee matchup between the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles have featured many memorable moments in blizzard conditions. Johnson also passed Herman Moore as the Lions’ all-time leading...

It’s a snowy game in Philadelphia between the Eagles and the Lions.
On a third-down conversion Calvin Johnson fell to the ground, a ground that is covered in a least a foot of snow, and slid face to ground. When he came up, you could see more snow than you could see Johnson through his face mask.
Looks like Johnson also wants to look the part...
As we told you a little bit earlier, it’s quite snowy in Philadelphia today for the Eagles-Lions game. In a pretty funny scene in the first quarter, Detroit wideout Calvin Johnson wound up with a face full of snow after a routine catch from Matt Stafford.
Looks like Megatron has transformed into the Abominable Snowman today.

It is really snowing in Philadelphia where the Eagles are taking on the Detroit Lions and it appears that Calvin Johnson is trading in his “Megatron” nickname for “Mr. Freeze.” Megatron not only reeled in an unimaginable 33-yard reception in the frosty conditions, but also a helmet full of snow.

I am sure the Lions are wishing they are in the dome.
Calvin Johnson Snow

The conditions in Philadelphia have made for a messy conditions, albeit beautiful messy conditions. Through one quarter, the Lions have four fumbles and the Eagles have negative two yards of offense. But there was one gorgeous long reception by Megatron, though making a diving catch cost him all visibility by filling his face with snow.
The Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eages are playing in the snow. While there was some snow in the forecast neither team could have foreseen the blizzard that would hit on Sunday.
Still that did not stop the Lions from throwing the ball. Matt Stafford to Calvin Johnson and of course a pile of snow.

Who doesn’t love the NFL’s top receiver as a snowman?
Well, hello, Old Man Winter! Pull up a chair! You’re right on time for the game. The Lions are schlepping into town for today’s showdown at the Linc. Without further adieu, let’s get to the matchups that I will be watching today.
Foles and The O-Line v. Detroit’s Pass Rush
Foles faced a legitimate pass rush last week v. Arizona, and he took his licks and 5 sacks to boot....
Calvin Johnson is too much too handle. Advice to the Eagles: let Megatron get his and focus on stopping Reggie Bush. Matthew Stafford will sling the ball all over the field and isn’t afraid to throw it anywhere. In bad weather, Stafford could easily throw three picks. So, double down on Johnson and focus in on Bush to limit Stafford’s options.

If last week's encounter with the Arizona Cardinals and Pro Bowl wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald was a test for the Philadelphia Eagles secondary; Sunday's match-up with the Detroit Lions and Calvin Johnson is a final exam.
With cornerback Cary Williams in coverage and with help over the top from safety Nate Allen, the Eagles contained Fitzgerald in a 24-21 victory. The Cards...

Playoff positioning is on the line, as the NFC North leading Detroit Lions (7-5) come to Philadelphia to face the Philadelphia Eagles (7-5).
Expect the weather to play a role in this game. Temperature is supposed to be in the 30’s with a chance of snow. The Lions, who play in a dome in Detroit, could have to adjust their game plan due to weather.
Nick Foles and LeSean McCoy will...
Calvin Johnson was on the field catching passes and running routes Thursday, continuing the one-day-a-week practice regimen he has been on most of the year.
And as Johnson closes in on the Lions’ all-time receiving record — he’s 40 yards shy of breaking Herman Moore’s mark of 9,174 yards, which should fall Sunday against the Eagles in Philadelphia — he said he hasn’t...
Calvin Johnson needs just 40 more yards to break Herman Moore’s team record for receiving yards in Detroit. “I’m not worried about that,” Johnson said. “Like I say, when the time comes, I’ll know, but it’s not here right now.” He is 40 yards from breaking Herman Moore’s Detroit Lions franchise mark for receiving yards. The Detroit Lions have a big game this weekend as they try to keep a one game lead in the NFC North.
Actually from here on out the Lions have nothing but big games if they want to make the playoffs for the second time in three years. That challenge begins this Sunday in Philadelphia against the Eagles.
Detroit is capable of knocking off one of the hottest teams in the league...
Sometimes I think certain NFL teams release injury reports on their star players with the intent of throwing their next opponent off guard. Traditionally you would think you would not want your opponent to know your star player, like wide receiver Calvin Johnson of the Detroit Lions, is hurting. But the Lions seem to go out of their way to provide every possible detail of Megatron...
Playoff seeds and division crowns are at stake on Sunday. Calvin Johnson and LeSean McCoy are first to come to mind when thinking of difference makers, as they have been all season. There are sure to be some surprises in this game though. Here, we try and predict what they are. The Eagles defense will limit Matthew Stafford to less than 225 passing yards. The Detroit Lions own...
No. 6: Calvin Johnson
Calvin Johnson, also known as ‘Megatron’, is arguably the top wide receiver in the NFL. The Detroit Lion torches the rest of the league on a regular basis, and at 6-foot-5 and 236 pounds, he’s a pretty impressive physical specimen as well. Johnson checks in as our 6th hottest male in sports in 2013:

Calvin Johnson has earned the nickname 'Megatron' and represents the Eagles toughest test.
On Sunday the Philadelphia Eagles limited Larry Fitzgerald, at least by Larry Fitzgerald standards. Their reward for their efforts? A showdown with the Detroit Lions and All-World receiver Calvin Johnson this week.
Fitzgerald, who is on pace to post close to career-best numbers this...
When you looked at the Detroit Lions draft in the beginning of the year, it might had not looked like a very strong bunch, but boy have these guys stepped up. In my opinion they have had the best drafts in a while. This draft class landed more than 5 starters, and it could turn […]
One word best describes the Detroit Lions’ Thanksgiving Day win over NFC North rivals the Green Bay Packers: dominating.
The Lions offense moved the ball at will, the defensive line dictated the play all game and the Lions got back to their winning ways, 40-10, over Green Bay.
It’s exactly the kind of performance the Lions needed coming off two-straight losses to Pittsburgh...
Guys across the nation are thankful for Calvin "Megatron" Johnson, wide receiver of the Detroit Lions, today. Why? Because with six catches for 101 yards and a touchdown he gave them a pretty high scoring performance for their fantasy match ups.Detroit fans will just be glad to have him on the team. The man is a special talent. When you are such a talent you can't just...
Calvin Johnson had another solid game this week, going for 101 yards and a touchdown on 6 receptions. On this 20-yard touchdown, Johnson brushed off Green Bay Packers safety Morgan Burnett, making him look like nothing more than a mosquito. The touchdown was crucial in getting the Lions off to a good start in the second half and started their 40-10 thrashing of the Packers.
Even though the Lions have outgained the Packers by a nearly 10-to-1 rate, it’s not the blowout it could be due to Detroit turnovers. But Calvin Johnson helped put some distance between the teams with this impressive touchdown, his fifth consecutive Thanksgiving with a score, to put the Lions up 24-10 in the third quarter.Especially noteworthy is the DB who barely changes Megatron...
