Rockies’ age-old question on opening day
DENVER — The Rockies got old fast this offseason. They have become the anti-Hollywood. While society is obsessed with staying young, the Rockies’ projected opening day lineup figures to jump from 28.4 to 32.4 years old.
If the players are better, it doesn’t matter if they are older. But the figure paints a clear picture of the Rockies’ striking transformation...

The Colorado Rockies have added quite a bit of new faces for the 2012 season
The Colorado Rockies have underwent a lot of change since last September and a lot of it is positive. Here is a look at the new guys for 2012:
In the field: The Rockies could have four new starters in 2012 in the field. Ramon Hernandez is the likely starting catcher for the Rockies and he should love playing at Coors Field. Michael Cuddyer will be the new RF for the Rockies in...

Blake certain he can make difference in Denver
Third baseman Casey Blake made three trips to the disabled list in 2011 with the Dodgers, but he was effective enough in those brief periods of health to believe he could make a difference for a team in 2012.

Rockies Season Preview Q&A: 2012
Last year, it looked like the Colorado Rockies would be strong contenders for the division title. Instead, they finished in fourth (73-89), 21 games out of first place. Fun fact: the team used thirteen different starters last season, and seven guys made 10+ starts for the them. (For comparison’s sake, the Giants used eight starters, only five of whom made 10+ starts). Anyway...

The Rockies Finally Stop Treading Water
You know those Internet quizzes that ask you to name all 30 MLB teams in a couple minutes? For me, if I don’t get all of them, the one team that I miss is the Colorado Rockies. The Rockies are the Franklin Pierce of baseball teams. It pretty much all their fault too. The biggest story involving the Rockies last year was their trade of their best pitcher to the Indians. Troy...

Put yourself in the Diamondbacks’ place. Arizona surprised everyone in 2011 by winning the NL West one season after bringing up the rear, but there were plenty of cracks in the first-place façade. In fact, it might be more accurate to say there was some faç...

From the L.A. Times' blog post:"The suspension falls under the "drug of abuse" standard rather than a "stimulant" standard, according to a person familiar...

Casey Blake Joins Rockies’ Crowd at Third
Casey Blake is reportedly joining the Rockies on a non-guaranteed, one-year deal worth up to $3 million. At first glance, it doesn’t seem like too much money — and the Rockies are a perpetual contender in a weak division — so blocking a cheaper prospect might not be of the utmost concern. It’s a small, short deal that fills a need.
What is notable about the move,...

Blake and DeRosa – I Say “No-sah”
The Browns are an absolute abomination. Why do we do this to ourselves each week? At what point is there going to be some sort of backlash? I can’t take it. Thank goodness they aren’t the only game in town. The team that is closest to contention in this three-pro sport town is clearly the Indians at this point. But they obviously have their flaws. It seems like I keep coming...
