Hail to the Chief! Chad Cordero returning to DC area this summer...
(The Chief, circa 2006. Photo by @misschatter.)
For as long as he can remember, Chad Cordero would wake up on a late January morning like this and start thinking about throwing a baseball. But the winter of 2012 has been like nothing Chad Cordero has ever experienced in his life. “Very weird” is how Cordero described it in a phone call...

Could Cordero be the answer
I know I have said all the same things myself, the minute you hear Chad Cordero you think washed up, damaged goods, scrap heap, etc...Still Chad Cordero between 2005-2007 had the second most saves (113 saves) in the entire National League behind Trevor Hoffman. He is the second youngest player to 100 saves, behind none other then Krod. In 2005 he was an All-Star, Nationals player...

The Toronto Blue Jays have released right handed pitcher Chad Cordero according to Todd Dewey of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Game 88, Rangers at Mariners
The lineups are the same as they were last night, but Baker also informs us that Chad Cordero is close to getting into a game and Jeff Zimmerman (surprise) has arm soreness. I’m sure one of you was wondering.
I’d suggest checking out the Futures Game too, where RF Tyson Gillies and 3B Alex Liddi [...]--

Mets - Signed Cordero
New York Mets - Signed P Chad Cordero to a minor-league contract.
Sadly, medical science for treating labrum tears doesn't seem to have the same success rate as treating elbow tears. While Cordero never really had an impressive fastball as closers tend to, his slider still isn't what it was and without the slider, Cordero's not going to get major league hitters out...

Jays Bring Chad Cordero Into RP Competition

What a great low risk and potentially high value addition to the Jays relief competition. The Jays added Chad “The Chief” Cordero to their plethora of relievers who are going to attempt to break camp with the Jays in ‘11.
The Good
Chad Cordero has a proven track record, is still young (he’ll begin the ‘11 season at 29 years old...

Chad Cordero fights on after devastating personal tragedy
That Chad Cordero did not fare that well against the Phillies in his first big league appearance of the spring — one run, two hits, one wild pitch, one hit batter over six faced, his line read — was not the main story in Florida on Tuesday.
That the Toronto Blue Jays reliever has been able to summon the courage to attempt a comeback after an immense personal tragedy last December...

Roster Moves (6/3): The return of Chad Cordero and more
With this edition of roster moves published, I will be caught up. For the time being anyway. Lots of things going on this week which may cause a slight delay in my weekday schedule. Not the least of which is the major league draft.

Non Roster Invitee: Chad Cordero – Mariners
Truth be told it’s probably not going to happen for Chad Cordero this spring. He’s given his all but considering he missed all of last season it’s tough to believe the Seattle Mariners would be thrilled about including him on their opening day roster.
For what it’s worth he’s regained much of his velocity and has been pitching well but alas this is spring...

Jays Notes: Octavio Dotel, Chad Cordero, HOF, and the Draft Order
As we head towards spring training, with less than 8 weeks to go, here are a few Jays notes and news:
I have to ask this of Jays fans, would you rather have Octavio Dotel (37) at a cost of $3.75 million over one year if bought out of his option – $6.5 million if over 2 years, or would you rather have Kevin Gregg (32) for 2 years at a cost of $10 million with a vesting option...

Lannan Salary Arbitration Hearing Key for Nationals
The first salary arbitration hearing for 2012 took place yesterday between LHP pitcher John Lannan and the Washington Nationals.
Beyond it being the first hearing of the year (it’s likely that the results of it will be made known today), as arb hearings go, it’s a substantive one for the Nationals.
Lannan has his work cut out for him if history holds court. From 2005...
