Good pitching + no offense = Phillies lose!
Yesterday the Phillies got a solid outing from Kyle Kendrick that led them to a win, today they got another solid outing from their starting pitcher, Cole Hamels, but this time they lost. The difference? The offense was MIA today against the Marlins, getting shutout in a 3-0 loss.
Hamels pitched well for the Phillies, going 6 and 2/3rds innings and only giving up 2 earned runs...

Please Find Some Mojo in Florida (Nolasco f/x)
What a brutal stop in Cincinnati. The Cubs "embarrassed" Mike Quade on Monday, leading to a team meeting. Futility won over, as the Reds scored seven unearned runs in another cruddy loss.
Now it's off to Miami to face the Marlins, who are playing pretty good baseball. The Cubs will face Ricky Nolasco and Christopher Volstad and then head to Fenway for a three game weekend against...

Hot Stove Philly Week In Review
Despite a sputtering offense, the Phillies remained in first place this week, two games up on New York Mets. The Phils' offense continues to look lost, and at one point this week went 23 innings without scoring a run, despite facing less than stellar opposing pitching.
The Phillies lost two games to the Florida Marlins, who are just a half a game back of the Mets in the National...

Phillies vs. Marlins Series Preview
The Phillies and Marlins enter this weekend's series separated by 5.5 games, with the Mets sandwiched in between just a half game back of Philadelphia. Despite what appears to be a commanding lead, the Phillies cannot simply disregard the Marlins, winners of eight in a row.
Luckily for the Phillies, the Marlins have not made up much ground on them, as they have won seven in...
