Milwaukee Brewers give RHP Claudio Vargas his unconditional release
According to Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, the Brewers have given right-handed pitcher Claudio Vargas his unconditional release.
The Brewers were rumored to be shopping Vargas this week, but Haudricourt says the team could not work out a trade. Vargas was designated for assignment on Saturday to make room for Chris Capuano.

According to the Pacific Coast League transaction page, the Los Angeles Dodgers have released RHP Claudio Vargas.
The Dodgers signed Vargas in mid-June after the Milwaukee Brewers released him.
Vargas was with the Dodgers in 2009 before he was traded to the Brewers in July for catcher Vinny Rottino. Vargas was 1-0 with a 7.32 ERA in 17 appearances for the Brewers this season.
