Lions Add Former First-Rounder
The Detroit Lions, perhaps looking for depth at linebacker, signed former Dallas Cowboys first-round pick Bobby Carpenter. Carpenter, who was recently released by the Miami Dolphins, was traded from Dallas to the St. Louis Rams back in May. The Rams released him on Sept. 4. Wallace Signs, Balmer Only One Left
The 49ers signed their fifth draft pick today, locking up fourth-round pick Cody Wallace to a 4-year deal. With training camp set to begin on Friday the 49ers are only one signing away (Kentwan Balmer) from having all draft picks signed and in camp.

Fourth-Round Pick OL Wallace Signs Deal
