Just minutes after Ottawa sort of inexplicably lost Cory Conacher on waivers to the Buffalo Sabres, they turn around and make a brilliant move -- acquiring the super-underrated Ales Hemsky from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for a third and fifth-round draft pick. These picks obviously have very little value. Additionally, Edmonton's retaining 50% of the salary in the deal....

Amidst all of the wild trade rumors in Ottawa these days, one of the big stories to percolate yesterday was the waiving of forward Cory Conacher, acquired one year ago in the trade for Ben Bishop.

Before any of the trade deadline day gets started, the name Cory Conacher has been frequent. He's on waivers, but many believe that the Sabres will grab him. Just because he played at Canisuis doesn't mean he's a perfect fit to come here.
I'm not against giving him a shot on this this team, but I do want to make sure everyone knows a little more about him before...

The trade deadline about 24 hours away and the rumors aren't going to stop. The latest name floating around is Cory Conacher who have been waived.
Many expect the Sabres to grab him, but I'm not sure we can jump to that conclusion immediately. Tim Murray has watched Conacher with Ottawa, so he's seen him play before.
Conacher will definitely be a player to keep...
