Despite being major champions and two of the most notable names on the PGA Tour in the last 20 years, John Daly and David Duval will be heading back to Q-School Dec. 11-16.
“It’s a hard cut,” said Tom Alter, PGA Tour spokesman, regarding the FedExCup points 200th-place cut-off to get into the Web.com Tour Finals.

If I could predict everything, there would be no real point in anyone playing fantasy golf, since I'd be in first in every league. But, your humble fantasy golf guru can't, and I don't know if I'd want that power (something about great powers requiring responsibility, and who needs more of that?). Last week, I told you Keegan Bradley was a shoe-in, a bond purchase...

Follow up to DA Points is Pointed off Pebble Beach
In my last article I discussed DA Point’s disqualification and golf’s odd rule 14-3. This isn’t golf’s only weird rule – not by a long shot!
Rule 17-3 states that you incur a two-stroke penalty for holing a shot if the ball hits the flagstick and someone is standing near it. Rule 19-2 discloses that if your ball is in...
Sponge-ball incident disqualifies DA Points at Pro-Am.
A rather innocuous action by DA Points has led to the golf season’s first controversial disqualification, but likely not the last.
Waiting an unusual amount of time for the group ahead to clear the 18th fairway, DA Points placed a green sponge-ball between his torso and arm and proceeded to take some practice swings off to...

Aloha, my friends and welcome to 2014! It’s hard to imagine that just 12 months ago you were all making the same promises to yourselves that you’ll be making again 12 months from now, but trust me, you will be. “Oh, I’m going to go to the gym this year!” and “oh, I think I’ll cut back on my gambling” and “this will be the year I get to single-digits.” Sure, bud...

I have to admit, before he got his first PGA Tour victory this past weekend, I didn’t know a lot about Billy Horschel. In fact, I was hoping that he wouldn’t win, because who wants to spell Horschel on a regular basis? Not me. But, I am a professional, so I will press on.
So we’ve established that I did not know much about Billy Horschel and I would guess that...

The American began the day two shots behind third-round leader Lucas Glover and surged into the lead with six straight birdies after the first delay. He finished at 20 under, narrowly holding off Shell Houston...

PGATOUR.com's Daily Wrap-Up following DA Points win.
More on DA Points' putter from Melanie Houser: "Points came into the week struggling. Playing like -- his word -- garbage. He had made all of two cuts in nine starts this year and needed something. Anything. So he grabbed a handful of putters and headed to Houston where...
It took a little more time than expected due to a long weather delay, but D.A. Points was up to the task, winning his second career PGA Tour title behind an 6-under 66 for a one-shot victory, earning a spot in the Masters as well.
Here are 5 Things to take away from Points' win:
1. TAKING THE POINTS: To say this victory came out of nowhere would be an understatement for Points...
D.A. Points came back from a long rain delay and made four pars. The last one gave him a one-shot victory in the Houston Open and sent him to the Masters.
Points closed with a 6-under 66 on Sunday, saving par on the last two holes at Redstone Golf Club to outlast Masters-bound Henrik Stenson and Billy Horschel. The final round was halted for nearly three hours because of storms...

The putter D.A. Points once took from his mother paid off nicely for him Thursday in the Houston Open.

In his final tournament before...
Steve Wheatcroft hates going to Monday qualifiers. He was reminded Friday why they can be worth it.
Wheatcroft ran off three straight birdies early in his round and kept bogeys off his card for a second straight 5-under 67. That gave him a one-shot lead over D.A. Points and Jason Kokrak going into the weekend at the Houston Open.
Rory McIlroy also will be around, but just barely...

Brian Harman, the first alternate, made his debut in The Players Championship and shot 73. It was a round he won't easily forget, for reasons not the least bit related to his score.
In a bizarre situation that no one could recall happening before, Harman was assigned a separate tee time and had to play as a single Thursday because he could not be found when D.A. Points abruptly...
Rickie Fowler is finally a winner on the PGA Tour.
Fowler, billed as one of the rising American stars, delivered a clutch shot on the 18th hole in a playoff for a 4-foot birdie to beat U.S. Open champion Rory McIlroy and D.A. Points on Sunday in the Wells Fargo Championship.
The 23-year-old Fowler won in his 67th PGA Tour start as a pro. He already has become one of the most popular...
