The incredible of legend of White Sox closer Bobby Jenks continues to grow. Turnbow Update

The Marlins, Pirates, Tigers are the finalist for free agent pitcher Derrick Turnbow. Turnbow has struggled over the past three seasons, but owns a career 4.30 ERA in 257 appearances, making some think a change of scenery is all he needs. Turnbow has had success in Dolphin Stadium, and may intrigued by the idea of playing out of the NL Central, which could hurt the Pirates' chances...

Pirates interested in Turnbow

I suppose every GM has a weakness. For a over year now, I've been intrigued watching Neal Huntington try to rebuild the Pirates, trying to figure out his plan of attack, how feasible it is, how he's different from Dave Littlefield, etc. One thing is inextricably clear: Huntington loves relievers ...

Marlins Buy Low on Derrick Turnbow

With their tiny budget, the Florida Marlins have to almost always buy low when it comes to free agency. On Friday, they made another such move when they inked reliever Derrick Turnbow to a one-year contract. In 2007, Turnbow had 33 saves and only three blown saves while with the Milwaukee Brewers. That season, he had a 4.63 ERA and 84 strikeouts in 68 innings. Since that point, however...

Marlins add Turnbow in minor league deal

As reported by Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com, the Marlins have added former Milwaukee Brewers closer Derrick Turnbow. He’s coming aboard on a minor league deal with a Spring Training invite, so nothing here is guaranteed in the slightest. What do I think of the deal? It should be asked whether we should even care. Florida Marlins reliever Derrick Turnbow injures shoulder

Derrick Turnbow's comeback bid with the Marlins appears over -- before it really got started. The former All-Star closer, who has been pitching with a 20 percent tear in his rotator cuff since 2007, left in the eighth inning of Tuesday's 12-3 loss to the Nationals with severe pain in his right (throwing) shoulder. An MRI will be performed Wednesday. But based on his account...

Bush vs. Parra: Why the Brewers messed up

Like most Brewers fans, I was stunned Sunday afternoon. First I have to sit at Miller Park and watch our offense not do much of anything and lose a tough game in 10 innings. Then, as my buddies and I were driving home, I heard Breaking News. The Brewers were optioning Dave Bush to Nashville. No, not sending Manny Parra to Triple A or cutting ties with Derrick Turnbow, but sending...

Florida Marlins: Josh Johnson told to watch his mouth; Derrick Turnbow done?

Marlins bench coach Carlos Tosca thinks it’s a good rule. He just wished he would have known about it a little sooner. Tuesday against the Braves in Lake Buena Vista, first base umpire Joe West cited Josh Johnson for two balks. A ball was added to the count on both occasions. Apparently, Major League Baseball implemented some rule changes and didn’t bother to inform...
