Video: Bobcats C has embarrassing airball

The Charlotte Bobcats are not having a good season. Neither are the Washington Wizards for that matter. Given the records of the two teams entering tonight’s game it would be completely understandable if not many tuned in to watch. Those who did saw a fairly entertaining game. Bobcats center Byron Mullens had a career-high [...]

DeSagana Diop's Free Throw Air Ball Doesn't Come Close to the Rim (Video)

Charlotte Bobcats center DeSagana Diop scored only 1 point in Saturday night's 102-99 loss to the Washington Wizards. Diop had some trouble at the free throw line as he was 1-4 with his free throws, including one which was so bad that it came up a few feet short of the rim. It's plays like this that explain why the Bobcats have only won three games so far this season...

While we’re waiting… Reviewing the Tribe’s Offseason, Stinkfest in Columbus, Browns and the New Cap Rules and Eyenga Passes Diop

While We’re Waiting serves as the early morning gathering of WFNY-esque information for your viewing pleasure. Have something you think we should see? Send it to our tips email at tips@waitingfornextyear.com. I’m somewhat amused that the Tribe added Derek Lowe because of his durability… and then brought back Grady Sizemore. “[Lowe's] durability is what intrigued...

Worst. NBA. Free Throw. Ever.

We won’t say DeSagana Diop is the worst player in NBA history, but the dude is totally a waste of space. The Cleveland Cavaliers made him the eighth overall selection in the 2001 NBA draft. He somehow stuck around with them for four years and he’s now wasting space for the Charlotte Bobcats, where he brings his gaudy career averages of 2.0 points and 3.8 rebounds per...

Worst Free-Throw Miss in History (Video)

When it comes to poor free throw shooting you usually associate it with former NBA bigman Shaquille O'Neal. However, a new face of poor charity stripe tossing may have emerged from the pack on Saturday.Seen here is Charlotte Bobcats forward DeSagana Diop chucking a free throw attempt that some are calling, "the worst free-throw miss in the history of professional basketball...

DeSagana Diop… C’mon Man!

DeSagana Diop just may have cemented his legacy in NBA history Saturday night, when he stepped to the line and released one of the worst free throw attempts (if that’s what you want to call it) ever. The 10-year veteran is shooting a staggering 25% from the charity stripe this season, and from the looks of this video it’s not getting better anytime soon… Click here to view...

Video: DeSagana Diop Airballs Free Throw

Former Cleveland Cavaliers lottery selection DeSagana Diop airballed a free throw last night. It was fairly epic. The best part may be that his second attempt went glass. Over 10 NBA seasons after being selected eighth overall in 2001, Diop has averaged 2.0 points per contest. The 7-footer is making $6.5 million this year. (h/t to Brian Boesch)

DeSagana Diop Airballs Free Throw, Sums Up Bobcats Season (Video)

For the Charlotte Bobcats, this season hasn't been one of their greatest and the below video might sum up their season.During yesterday's home game against the Washington Wizards, Charlotte's DeSanga Diop was at the free throw line and well...one of his attempts didn't hit anything: (Courtesy of Los That Sports Blog)

Here’s DeSagana Diop With Possibly the Worst Free Throw Air Ball in NBA History

How bad was that free throw attempt by DeSagana Diop? I doubt that was even within 3-feet of the rim. Even if Diop is a 7-foot-tall center from Senegal, that is a poor effort on his part. No wonder Charlotte dropped a 102-99 decision to the nearly as pathetic Wizards tonight. That 10-second video clip perfectly sums up the Bobcats season to this point…ugly.

Desagana Diop has a One-Foot Shooting Range

As you can see in Desagana Diop's free throw last night, anything outside of a foot has a rare chance of going in. At least the technique is there, unlike Chuck Hayes and Joakim Noah. Do big men still have to make 10 free throws in a row before they leave practice? [Follow me @TravisHouser]

DeSagana Diop Should Just Retire After That Miss

This free throw by DeSagana Dion was by far the worst miss on a free throw I have ever seen. I mean it wasn’t even ****** close (Wally Backman voice). Now I know Diop is a “defensive” player but after this shot he should be a “retired” player… HAHAH. Wow. Did you see the body language of the other two OKC players. THEY WERE LIKE OMG. For the...

The Skyenga Points Tracker Series Is Back, By Way Of A Thunderous Slam

Its back! The Skyenga Point Tracker Series is finally making its return. After almost 10 months of not passing anyone on the Cavaliers All-Time Scoring List, Christian Eyenga moved past someone last night. In the last 10 months, Eyenga has actually moved down from 156th place to 159th place as Alonzo Gee, Kyrie Irving and Samardo Samuels have all passed him up. But last night...

DeSagana Diop is so good at free throws, his shots never touch anything! DeSagana Diop is undoubtedly the best free thrower of all time: Next time you're shooting a free throw, try your best to be like DeSagana Diop. Trust me, the jokes are actually praise! Maholo, The Hoop Scene!

DeSagana Diop would be the starting center if the season started today for the Charlotte Bobcats

If the season started today, 29-year old DeSagana Diop would be the Charlotte Bobcats’ starting center.  Diop played in only 16 games (0 starts) for the Bobcats last year and he averaged 11.3 minutes, 1.3 points, 2.5 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game.  He has now played in 552 games (83 starts) in his NBA career so far and he is averaging 14.2 minutes, 2.1 points, 3.8 rebounds...

‘Cats Continue to Search for Identity and W’s.

Jumping out to an early lead Monday night in Gotham was nothing more than a tease as the lowly Bobcats drop another heartbreaker.  Then again, when your starting center is DeSagana Diop, it’s very difficult from the outset to envision a win.  The ‘Cats came out of the gates with a bang and were very [...]

The Starting Lineup: Picks, Rolls, And Ping Pong Balls

Let me start by saying that I had to whip this up real quick.  I’ve got a long car ride coming up tomorrow and I have to sleep at least a few hours so I’m around to author this blog come Sunday morning.  I’m also in a pretty lousy mood, apparently.  I didn’t even realize the extent of it until I re-read this sh!t.  It’s bursting at the seams...

The Sleeper Keeper

In the two games Desagana Diop has played for the Nets, he has looked quite good, winning praise from his coach and the guys behind the mikes. An athletic 7-footer who has a high basketball IQ, particularly on defense, Diop looks like he could be the sleeper keeper of the Nets trade with the [...]

Could Kwame Brown Really Get A Better Deal From Another NBA Team?

Mark Bartelstein has carved himself out a nice niche in the NBA. The NBA Player Agent does not have many big name clients that play in the Association. However Bartelstein does have a lot of clients that play in the Association. When the time of the year comes around that NBA free agents start negotiating deals, the agents name becomes more and more prominent on your morning sports page.

Day 16 of 124: Where Tyson Chandler Drops Bombs

Line of the Night: Tyson Chandler (2.91) took advantage of a DeSagana Diop matchup to score 20 points on 7-8 shooting, adding 13 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 blocks on the night. And when I say shooting, I really mean catching and dunking lobs from other Knicks. But hey, it’s been effective for Chandler, who is now averaging what would be a career high 12 points in addition to...

With no games to call, the Bobcats fire their lone radio voice

The Charlotte Bobcats have fired their radio play by play announcer, apparently for the duration of however long this lockout goes on. We at Ball Don't Lie aren't usually in the habit of telling others how to run their own businesses -- actually, we're always in the habit of telling others how to run their own businesses -- but I think a cheapo move like this is something...
