Jets waive seven players

The Jets trimmed their roster to 80 players by waiving guard Terrence Campbell, long snapper Derek Chard, defensive tackle Matt Hardison, cornerback LeQuan Lewis, safety Marcus Lott and wide receivers Dexter Jackson and Raymond Webber. With the offseason in full swing for the Jets, they have signed six of their former practice squad players to future/reserve contracts: WR Michael Campbell, TE Dedrick Epps, WR Dexter Jackson, T Dennis Landolt, CB Julian Posey, and WR Eron Riley.

Jets Re-Sign Gilbert to Practice Squad

A minor transaction took place today involving the practice squad. The Star-Ledger reports the Jets have released wide receiver Dexter Jackson, replacing him with defensive lineman/tight end in-progress Jarron Gilbert. Gilbert had a brief stint on the active roster last season but has spent the majority of his time in New York on the team’s practice squad.
