udie Bridges’ day temporarily got worse. Then it got a whole lot better.
Bridges, a native of Wakefield, Mass., recently was the victim of an unfortunate accident when his car was sideswiped near his home. The good news? The driver pulled a U-turn to go back and apologize. The even better news? That driver was Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
Stone Cold Steve Austin is a fairly modest guy and is never one to toot his own horn. Yet Austin has made one thing perfectly clear in recent years, he was the biggest draw in WWE history and he doesn't care if your name is Hogan or Rock, he wants his respect.
WWE PPVs are thirty years old this year. WrestleMania I was not the first (it aired on closed-circuit in theaters), rather Wrestling Classic was. In those thirty years, WWE has provided fans with countless moments from numerous historical events.
Whatever Attitude programming makes its way to the Network on Monday, I thought it'd be nice to put the actual era in perspective and sift through the top moments with the benefit of hindsight. I do enjoy my listmaking; you may have noticed.
Now that the WrestleMania 31 dust has settled it is time for the WWE to get cracking on WrestleMania 32. I thought it would be fun to take a look at a potential card a year ahead of time and try and predict a card for the 2015 Texas event.
WrestleMania 31: One of the best WrestleMania events in recent memory; maybe of all-time. Great matches, surprises, star-power and a great crowd were all part of the recipe for a successful WrestleMania. Friends or significant others that don’t understand why you watch professional wrestling? Show them WrestleMania 31.
The moments are what make a WrestleMania successful. Every...
I never saw it coming. One of the best WrestleMania events wrestling fans have ever been witness to took place last night. After the worry of a less than stellar showing by some of the participants on the card, this one will go down as not only one of the greatest ever planned, but maybe the most surprising ever to take place.
As I was lying awake this morning, with my body telling me it was time for some lunch and my watch telling me it was 5 a.m., I started to think about what scenario WWE could use to achieve everything they could want from the finish of the main event.
Next year WrestleMania is being held at the gargantuan AT&T stadium in Dallas and as such WWE have to pull out all of the stops...
There have been no shortage of WrestleMania tales over the last 30 years. In no particular order of importance here are 31 of what I found to be most the fascinating. Some of these are urban legend, some of these are alleged, most of these true and all are fascinating.
It was the old WWE guard that ruled WrestleMania 28. The Rock returned and finally settled his score with John Cena after a year, but it was Triple H and The Undertaker that stole the show and pulled off one of the most dramatic WrestleMania matches in WWE history.
There is little doubt that the biggest star to ever come out of the WWE is The Rock. The Rock has been able to parlay wrestling career into movie stardom. The WWE has finally taken advantage of Dwayne Johnson's grassroots with The Rock: The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment DVD.
This WWE documentary takes a look back at the 1990s. The time has come to start recognizing the legacy of the 1990s. The 90s have become the forgotten decade in wrestling. From The Rock-Ric Flair, Steve Austin-Bret Hart, the newest WWE home video remembers them all.
While the WWE fans are still warming up to the idea of Roman Reigns becoming “the man” to replace John Cena as their tried and true hero, the man who will become the new World Champion is showing off a bit of his Samoan heritage with each passing live show.
Everyone is talking about Roman Reigns and his potential following the WWE Royal Rumble 2015 fiasco. The latest to weigh in is arguably the greatest of all-time, Nature Boy Ric Flair. Flair offered his analysis, giving maybe the most interesting insight yet on the young man.
The winners of the matches never deserve the vitriol from fans. They're just toy soldiers in Vince McMahon's backyard sandlot, getting gunned down when he decides they should be gunned down. Just so happens that one of the soldiers was fragged by a pyrocentric television last month.
We could smell what the WWE was cooking after Sunday night’s Royal Rumble. And the fans were not happy with it.
The 2015 WWE Royal Rumble looked to be one of the most unpredictable Rumbles and events in recent memory. Unfortunately the final result wound up being the most predictable result of all scenarios. The WrestleMania 31 main-event match we have heard about for a year is still in tact as Brock Lesnar will meet Roman Reigns in the Mania headliner.
When WWE.com is reporting it, that means it’s no longer a spoiler folks. The Rock has made his presence known in Philadelphia, the site of tonight’s Royal Rumble, on his Twitter and Instagram accounts which of course has had social media blowing up overnight and all day as we are just hours away from the 28th annual Royal Rumble.
In town and always gotta stop by the neighborhood…...
The WWE loves to drop the ball on the biggest stages. This year’s Rumble should serve as another example of that. We have a World Title match and a Rumble classic that both should start to pave the way towards Wrestlemania, but my fears are the WWE is going to attempt to outthink itself yet again. Here’s who will win at the Rumble, and what the fallout will be.
The New Day vs...
The Rock will be at the Royal Rumble. This is a major surprise that came out of nowhere as not even the insiders reported any rumors of Dwayne Johnson taking part in the big event. The bigger story here is that The Rock is likely in for WrestleMania 31 making tonight’s event a lot more unpredictable.
Former WWE Champion Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has made it clear in the past that he is a huge MMA fan. Johnson recently did a Q&A with UFC Magazine and here are the highlights.
There is nothing more memorable in professional wrestling than a great rivalry. The WWE has produced some of the all-time best over the last several decades and I thought it would be fun to look back and countdown the ten best WWE feuds of all-time.
"It's great that Rock is back. Anybody in the locker room that says it doesn't piss them off, that he works however many days a year he works when we're working 300 days a year, something ridiculous, they're kidding themselves; they're scared to say it."
It didn't take long for Dean Ambrose's exploding-television mishap (Magnavox Overdrive?) to become subject of ridicule. The fact that Ambrose is winless in all pay-per-view bouts post-Shield split (that's since June 2) only makes an incendiary monitor more the source of caustic feeling.
The latest installment from the WWE's love affair with its favorite period is the Attitude Era Vol. 2 3-disc DVD set. The new set features a collection of matches and moments from 1997-2000 featuring Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, De-Generation-X and more.
