The Philadelphia 76ers: A Team Playing as One

The crack in the Liberty Bell seems just a tiny bit smaller. The NBA is relevant again in Philadelphia. The Sixers (6-2) are off to a fast start, the best since they reeled off an effortless ten in a row to start the 2000-01 season. All Sixer fans remember that year. I was in High School watching Eric Snow running the point, Allen Iverson running the show, and Dikembe Mutombo...

Rebuilding and You: A Bobcats Story

And so it begins...Jordan sucks! What's he doing? Why didn't we break the bank and get Nene? Why don't we get Chris Paul? Why haven't we won a championship? These are all illogical questions with logical answers. Why, you ask? Because this is the NBA and things don't always work out as planned, ask the Miami Heat. If you think sitting through a bunch of losing...

Allen Iverson Elevates Above Everyone For Putback Jam (Video)

Editor's note: The 2011-12 NBA season was supposed to tip off Nov. 1. With no games to watch, NESN.com will help fill the void by posting a dunk video every day until the lockout ends. At just 6 feet tall, Allen Iverson is not known for dunking as much as his ball-handling skills. But early in his career, the guard had an impressive putback dunk against the Raptors. Teammate...

Iguodala makes All Defensive Second Team

The Philadelphia 76ers defensive stopper Andre Iguodala was voted to the All Defensive Second Team and received a total of 15 points. The voting was done by NBA coaches. He is the first Sixer since Eric Snow back in 2002-2003 season to be voted on the defensive team. Iguodala strength is on the defensive end as he often guard the opposing team's top player at the guard or forward...

Iverson’s 01 Sixers vs Lebron’s 07 Cavs – Who was worse?

Both of these guys carried subpar teams to the finals, but who's load was heavier? During this time in the playoffs I always get to thinking about the possibility of different NBA finals match-ups and I got to thinking about some of the bad teams that made it to the finals and the superstars that carried them. Now don’t get me wrong, this isn’t a knock on those guys...

Asleep in the Snow

Narcolepsy? Zen student? Former Cav Eric Snow always said he wanted to be a commentator when he grew up. The Sixers gave him a shot and apparently he lost a lot of sleep in the process. From FanShots:

Should The Sixers Fire Basketball Analyst Eric Snow?

I was on 610-WIP earlier this morning and was asked by Angelo Cataldi about Philadelphia 76ers basketball analyst Eric Snow going to sleep on the air. The morning talk show host asked me if I thought Snow should be fired for going to sleep on the air. I told him I didn’t think so, but [...]

VIDEO: Eric Snow falls asleep during broadcast

I’m willing to give Eric Snow the benefit of the doubt here. It’s not exactly thrilling basketball when the Rockets and the Sixers get together. But at the very least, I expect some professionalism with regards to grammar. Garbling words nonsensically like you’re Serene Branson at the Grammy’s just isn’t acceptable. Then again, maybe Snow had a complex migraine.

Video: Sixers analyst falls asleep during game

It doesn't just stop with season-weary players and coaches. Announcers are ready for the All-Star break as well. Some could barely make it out of the last half-week of the season before sneaking in a long-deserved snooze. Like former Philadelphia 76ers point guard, and current 76ers analyst Eric Snow. A good minute into the video (we skipped it ahead for you), you can hear...

Eric Snow, Sixers Broadcaster, Falls Asleep During Game

by Michael Katz This is the one where a bunch of people who have not watched Philadelphia this season make jokes about how boring it is to watch the pathetic Sixers -- a mere 26-13 in their last 39 games -- play basketball. You see, their announcer Eric Snow -- who was once a chill bro who chilled with LeBron -- appears to have fallen asleep during a recent game against the Houston...

Sleepy Snow during telecast?

Yikes. You would hope an NBA commentator would be interested enough in his craft to stay awake while on the job. Well that doesn’t appear to be the case for 76ers color commentator Eric Snow. The former NBA point guard joined the Sixers team as a broadcaster at the start of the 2010-2011 season and [...]

Eric Snow nodding off during game?

The 76ers may not be the most exciting team in the league but there's no reason for their former point guard/current play-by-play man to doze off in the middle of the action.

Did Sixers Announcer Eric Snow Fall Asleep During Game? (Video)

At 27-29, the Philadelphia 76ers probably aren’t the most exciting team to watch in the NBA.  Fans undoubtedly have trouble getting behind the Sixers, but their broadcast team is supposed to always remain interested, right?  Apparently not.  It seems Philly announcer Eric Snow has about as much interest in the Sixers as Howie Rose has [...]

Even Sixers Broadcaster Eric Snow Can't Stay Awake For An Entire Sixers Game

Eric Snow, Comcast SportsNet's color analyst for the Sixers, seemed to drift off in the middle of the Philadelphia-Houston game last night. 7th & Pattison recorded the moment for our scrutiny: with just a few minutes remaining in the second quarter, Snow seems to bail on his play-by-play man, Marc Zumoff. After a few seconds of silence, Zumoff asks Snow, "You meditating...

Post Up: Blue Streak

by Anton Kudriavtsev/@TheDiesel A revolver full of games brings forth streaking teams, falling dreams, and guards cutting through the seams. Hawks 77, Heat 89 After last night’s snooze-fest, I mini-hyped this match-up but was treated to a complete team victory by the Heat over the Hawks on the third day of LeBronukkah. Video: Ohio Lieutenant Governor apes LeBron's latest ad

Since LeBron James became our nation's most beloved icon, sometime in 2007 as Eric Snow passed the torch, all manner of pundit and politician alike have been trying to work what has long been known as "the LeBron magic." How does he do it? From where does that charisma stem? What sort of beard, as LeBron so regularly changes, should I use for this particular occasion...
