Rangers send 12 down, including Olt
The Texas Rangers made their biggest roster cut of spring training Tuesday, dropping eight players from the major league roster to bring their camp number down to 46 players.
The biggest name cut was Mike Olt, who was sent to the Round Rock camp along with outfielder Engel Beltre, right hander Wilmer Font and left hander Jeff Beliveau.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have designated 2010 All-Star Evan Meek for assignment, the team announced.
Meek who posted a 2.14 era in 80 innings with a 7.9 k/9 during his 2010 All-Star campaign, only made 12 appearances this season postseason posting a 6.75 era. He did however post a 2.74 ERA with a 8.0 k/9 in 46 innings.
