This 53 man roster is not pretty

I have been polite this preseason.  Out of respect for the players, front office, & coaches, I have urged patience and time to let 2014 play itself out.  But along the way a few more developments have occurred that are noteworthy: 1) We have not seen any QB pressure from the first string Defensive Line.  In particular, JPP has been mostly silent, offering ephemeral half-bursts...

Top free-agent linebackers for the New York Jets

Sheldon Richardson is fresh off his Rookie of the Year award. Damon Harrison and Kenrick Ellis are one of the best nose-tackle tandems in the league. Davis Harris is coming off a revival season. Initial Reaction – Not Enough, Jets Come Apart Late In 30-20 Loss

The New York Jets were competitive in Carolina today against a superior team. However, as they have done many times this season, they made one mistake too many to steal a victory. Today, it was a blocked punt that helped break the game open for the Panthers and a late game pick six to seal the deal. At 6-8, the Jets are only playing for pride the next two weeks as Rex Ryan fights...

Super Fast Saturday: “A Wing and a Prayer”

First off, I wanted to apologize to you guys for being so erratic with this column, the Jets’ swoon had me in some states but we’re back and better than ever this week, praying for a miracle and some help to keep watching meaningful football. Last week was an improvement in some respects but the Jets have yet to get it going in all three phases and have a tall order in front...

New York Jets – Week 14 Linebacker Grades

The Jets pulled off a bounce back win at home against the Oakland Raiders in week 14. After witnessing an anemic offense produce zero touchdowns for two straight weeks, the defense slowly looked gassed. While the win against the Raiders was a step in the right direction, the once impenetrable run defense has taken a step back. They allowed a 63 yard touchdown run to fourth string...
