The St. Louis Rams release Hank Fraley
The Rams have released 33-year old center Hank Fraley. Fraley played in 7 games (0 starts) for the Rams last year. He has now played in 142 games (123 starts) in his first 11 years in the NFL. The Rams wanted to go with a more physical offensive line in 2011 which led to Fraley’s release.

Most Underrated Eagle?
Earlier today, ESPN’s divisional bloggers got together to compile a list of the most underrated players in the NFL. Among such odd choices as Matt Forte (Bears) and London Fletcher (Redskins), Eagles center Jamaal Jackson wound up the odds-on selection for Philadelphia.
Originally an undrafted free agent signed by the Birds in 2003, Jackson first started for an injured Hank...

Rams Season Review: Centers
Luckily, the Rams offensive line escaped the injury bug this season and the Rams only had to play one center all season, Jason Brown and were able to keep veteran Hank Fraley in reserve.
Jason Brown – The Rams high priced center has had better seasons, but he and Sam Bradford played well in the middle of the offense. The Rams will continue to have Brown holding down the center...

Juan Castillo Takes Over Eagles' Defense in Surprising Turn of Events
by David ElfinFiled under: Eagles, NFC EastNearly two weeks after changing his mind and firing defensive coordinator Sean McDermott, Philadelphia coach Andy Reid really reversed field on Wednesday when he put offensive line coach Juan Castillo in the job.
Castillo has been with the Eagles for the last 13 seasons, helping Shawn Andrews, Jermane Mayberry, Jon Runyan and Tra Thomas...

Training Camp Position Breakdown: Center
Now the group everyone is waiting for: the centers!
Jason Brown – Jason Brown is the cornerstone (or middlestone) of the Rams offensive line and as soon as his fellow starters return to the lineup, I’m sure he will return to his rightful place at center. A veteran center that knows the offense is even more important for a rookie quarterback as the center can help out with line...

Tempers Flare At Rams Training Camp Practice
St. Louis Rams 2009 first-round offensive tackle Jason Smith and 2008 first-round defensive end Chris Long were the main event during a Tuesday morning practice session that featured a pair of brawls during a live tackling period, reports Bill Coats of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Veteran center Hank Fraley and defensive tackle Gary Gibson were on the undercard. "About this time...

Rams Drop Gloves As Training Camp Nears End
Excuse me while I mix sports metaphors in the title of this post, but the Rams players patience grows thin as the practices feel longer. No longer fresh from the offseason and each player sporting his fair share of bumps and bruises, the Rams had three count’em three kerfluffles at today’s training camp practice. The showdowns were:
Chris Long v. Jason Smith –...

Training Camp Position Breakdown: Guards
Don’t forget to vote on the Rams weekly approval polling here! Polls are open for a few more days.
Let’s take a look now at the Rams group of guards.
Jacob Bell – The Rams signed Jacob Bell to a big free agent deal before the 2010 season and so far in his time with the Rams is play has been up and down to say the least. He is more of a finesse guard and benefits from strong...

RamView: Preseason Week 1 – Offensive Line
* Offensive line: The first unit o-line started out OK in a half-plus of play but declined steadily until it really became irresponsible to keep Bradford on the field behind them. At RT, Jason Smith was a big disappointment. He gave up two of the sacks of Bradford (and they were big hits, too) and one of the pass knockdowns. Getting outmuscled by journeymen is not what I was looking...

Rams Offense & O-Line Lack Punch
The simple fact is that you can not win in the NFL without great offensive line play and the St. Louis Rams offensive line played far from great on Saturday night falling 28-7 to the Minnesota Vikings. With Jacob Bell out the Rams started Hank Fraley at center with Jason Brown at RT. The line play throughout was horrible as the Rams only managed 33 yards rushing and allowed six sacks...

Jags Preview --- Phony Football is Back!!!
Football is back, baby. I know, I know. It's just preseason. Still,
that's a lot better than watching baseball or NCIS re-runs or whatever
else is hogging the airwaves this summer. I wrote a column for PE.com
on the game already. The column covers most of the big names and main things to look for. At the time I wrote it I wasn't sure Mike McGlynn would start...

The St. Louis Rams import some new blood for the O-Line in 2010
It appears that the Rams are going to go with rookie 2nd round pick Rodger Saffold as the starting LT in 2010. He was a solid run and pass blocker in college so the Rams hope that he will be able to handle the blind side in the NFL. LG Jacob Bell excels as a pass blocker but he will need to get better with his run blocking. Center Jason Brown is the leader of this unit as...

Monday’s Rams Camp Tidbits
We are early on in the process, but the Rams have plenty of players who watched from the sidelines during Monday’s morning session of camp due to injury. It doesn’t sound like many of the players are seriously hurt, but it is enough to keep some guys out of work. Here is the list of all players who watched today: Josh Brown, Brandon Gibson, Ron Bartell, Justin King, Kenneth Darby...

2010 NFL Preview – St. Louis Rams
The St. Louis Rams had an absolutely dreadful season in 2009, sporting the worst record in the National Football League at 1-15. After a steady three season decline, starting with the teams 3-13 record in 2007 there is reason for optimism. Head coach Steve Spagnuolo and GM Billy Devaney have put together a good, solid young core since the start of that 2009 season. Will it...

Jason Brown Working At Guard
Rams center Jason Brown has been working with the 1s (first team offense) during training camp at guard while free agent veteran addition Hank Fraley has been working at center. Brown is still getting reps at center, but it is notable that he is working at guard as well. Jason Brown is one of the Rams best offensive linemen and his increased flexibility is a good move. This...

Nick Cole: Center of Attention
If you’ve followed the Eagles for the past decade or so, you know that Andy Reid and Co. have been known to find the hidden gems at the center position. You don’t have to look that far back to see this: Hank Fraley was an undrafted rookie signed by the Steelers then claimed by the Eagles off waivers. Jamaal Jackson was also an undrafted rookie that was picked up in 2003. This...

Eagles Add Four More
The Eagles continue to add more players to the roster in the wake of the 2010 Draft. RB Keith Flemming, De Eric Moncur and CB Devin Ross were signed today as rookie free agents. In addition, G Shawn Murphy was claimed off waivers from the Tampa Bay Bucs.
Ross is the third undrafted player to be signed after the position was largely ignored during the draft. Murphy is the fourth lineman...

The St. Louis Rams have been picky so far this off-season
The Rams have signed six free agents who all will have a chance to help them in some capacity in 2010. Offensively the Rams have brought in QB A.J. Feeley, C/G Hank Fraley and TE Darcy Johnson. Feeley could be the starting QB for the Rams in 2010 based on what they do with the first pick in the draft. I know that some teams have been calling them about the pick. Hank Fraley...

Do The St. Louis Rams Want To Win
I know the Rams were 6-42 over the last three years and need to upgrade their talent and they basically hired a new coaching staff heading into 2009 so why do I still question their desire to win? It is simply because I have not seen nor heard of a plan. What is their plan? We heard about the four pillars but then the team discarded Will Witherspoon and Chris Draft, while keeping...
