Philadelphia 76ers: Which Free Agents Should Philadelphia Re-Sign?

(Dec. 22, 2012 – Source: Bruce Bennett/Getty Images North America)   By Myles Stedman: Staff Writer at Hoopstuff… Whilst it is likely unnecessary, it may as well be made clear at least once in this article: the Philadelphia 76ers are not trying to win next year. That must be taken into consideration when assessing exactly whom they will and will not re-sign for 2015/16. As...

76ers Confusing Draft Results

View image | gettyimages.com Two centers, Three power forwards, and a shooting guard, somehow the Philadelphia 76ers didn’t draft a guard until the 58th Overall Pick. The Sixers selected Jahlil Okafor with the 3rd Overall Pick, making it back to back years of selecting an injury prone center who played one year in the NCAA with the 3rd Overall pick. The pick of Okafor leaves...

Nerlens Noel dishes gorgeous assist to Henry Sims

We know Nerlens Noel can play defense. We know Nerlens Noel can block shots. We know Nerlens Noel can dunk. But did we know Nerlens Noel could do this? The 76ers, even after trading away K.J. McDaniels and Michael Carter-Williams, are starting to create an identity and some cohesion. This play is an example of that, with Noel finding a cutting Henry Sims just at the right time for...

Philadelphia 76ers trade rumors: Hinkie will take your salary dumps and second round picks, thank you

Unlike last year’s trade deadline, when they parted ways with Evan Turner, Spencer Hawes and Lavoy Allen (netting five second round picks, four players they’ve since cut and Henry Sims, all in the same day), the Philadelphia 76ers probably won’t be as eager to sell off their main contributors this time around. Most of their players are still on rookie deals and provide more...

Stay or Trade?

76ers General manager Sam Hinkie has already stated for the record that the Sixers will be “very active” in the days leading up to the February 19th NBA trade deadline and the anticipation of another draft day-ish, Hinkie-palooza event is simply killing the the scribes here at Philadunkia. The 76ers have a 12-41 record on the books heading in to All-Star Weekend and we all...

Philadelphia 76ers: Jerami Grant impresses with increased playing time

It’s no secret that Sam Hinkie loves his second round picks. In last year’s draft alone, the Philadelphia 76ers made five selections in the second round, with four more selections coming in next year’s draft. Hinkie acquires some of these picks in case he wants to swap with another team or needs to throw in a sweetener for a trade. Still others Hinkie keeps, either stashing...

Suns’ hot three point shooting burn Sixers 116-92

Last night, the Philadelphia 76ers took on the Phoenix Suns, who were riding a two-game losing streak. The Sixers needed a win after a 126-86 blow-out loss to the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night. The Sixers stayed competitive with the Suns throughout the game but Phoenix’s three-point shooting was too much for the youngsters as they lost 116-92. In the first quarter, the...

Sixers-Timberwolves game had to be restarted because teams were going wrong way

Of course, this would happen to the Philadelphia 76ers. They’re already saddled with an 0-17 record and now they can’t even start a game right. So the Sixers and the Minnesota Timberwolves tipped off and played the first 16 seconds of the game. Then after Henry Sims got fouled, the officials realized that the teams were going the wrong way on the court. So the refs scrapped...
