The Broncos came out to a beautiful, warm day at Sports Authority Field at Mile High to a ruckus crowd of over 38,000 fans. The team was ready to play in their annual summer scrimmage and both sides of the ball were ready to show their progress through eight days of camp. What resulted was an all too familiar sight. The offense dominated the scrimmage throughout the practice.
Saturday unofficially marks the return of Denver Broncos football.
Sure, it was only a practice — the summer scrimmage, to be exact — but this was live action, in pads, inside the Broncos’ home of Sports Authority Field at Mile High Stadium.
And some 30,000-plus Broncos backers showed up to New Mile High Saturday to cheer on Peyton Manning leading the first-team offense against...
The Denver Broncos announced Tuesday they they have designated tight end Joel Dreessen as released/failed physical, ending his two-year run with the team. Dressen, a nine-year veteran, joined the Broncos prior to the 2012 season after playing five seasons with the Houston Texans. The 2013 Denver Broncos endured a magical, record-breaking season that left a sour taste in their mouths at the end. The Broncos set offensive team and individual records on their way to the Super Bowl, but a 43-8 drubbing has left them with some unfinished business.
The Broncos, not being satisfied with 2nd place, have made plenty of moves this offseason...
Football teams and their makeups ebb and flow like the ocean, it seems.
Last season, the Denver Broncos came in with two very qualified tight ends and a few more younger guys to add depth, but that’s not how it all ended.
Joel Dreessen was going to be the starter, but then injured his knee, and Jacob Tamme was going to be the next man up until Julius Thomas made heads turn in...
This Sunday at MetLife Stadium in the Meadowlands (as in every NFL game) there will be a third team in the field: the officials. But unlike the Denver Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks, this team is an all-star crew, with the top seven officials from each position in 2013 (referee, umpire, head linesman, line judge, field judge, side judge and back judge) being selected to the...
NFL players rely on all sorts of methods for dealing with the type of weather the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks are expected to face in the Super Bowl.
Even if there's no snow or rain on Sunday, which is what the National Weather Service predicts, the high temperature is supposed to be 38 degrees. With the opening kickoff set for about 6:30 p.m., it could be in the 20s...

We’re just over a week away from the Super Bowl, and even Kentucky hoops fans are getting excited for it. Today, at today’s game against Georgia, UK mascots Wildcat and Scratch donned Denver Broncos jerseys at halftime. They were also joined by Kentucky’s tight ends coach, Vince Marrow:

(Eds: With AP Photos.) By ARNIE STAPLETON AP Pro Football Writer A year ago, Denver roared into the playoffs riding an 11-game winning streak and promptly lost for the first time in 98 days.
So much for momentum.
This year, the Broncos are again 13-3 and the AFC's top seed, two home wins away from the Super Bowl.
Only, they're far from the overconfident, sauntering unit...

Looking back, difficult as it may be, the Broncos doomed themselves by dominating the Baltimore Ravens four weeks before when they played them again.
It was mid-December of last season, and the Broncos had the Ravens whipped 31-3 midway through the third quarter before coasting to a 34-17 win.
When the teams met again in a second-round AFC playoff game Jan. 12, the Broncos tried...

Below are the guys I like or dislike in week 15 compared to the other experts on FantasyPros.com. I’m focusing on guys that are actually on that start/sit bubble. There’s no need to tell you I’m lower on DeSean Jackson when I have him...
Broncos tight end Julius Thomas (knee) will not play Sunday in the rematch with Kansas City.Fantasy Spin:Jacob Tamme caught five passes for 47 yards and a touchdown against the Pats and could be a decent fill-in for desperate owners.
Jacob Tamme was the OTHER free agent who chose Denver as his destination last year after making a name for himself in Indianapolis.
His familiarity with Peyton Manning paid off with a starting role for the Broncos in 2012, and he ranked third on the club in catches (52) and yards receiving (555) to go along with two TDs.
That all changed this season with the emergence of Julius...

Today when the Broncos took the practice field #18 looked big like he had been lifting weights. Well cone to find out, it wasn’t Peyton Manning but Jacob Tamme instead. “I was looking for 84 but he wasn’t out there,” Tamme laughed when asked who he was looking to throw to. “It was fun. Some […]
After missing some time with knee injury, Broncos tight end Jacob Tamme was back at practice today, according to Mike Klis of the Denver Post.
This is great news for the Broncos who need Tamme to have a strong season even though he’s not expected to be highly productive with Wes Welker now on the roster.

Broncos starting tight end Joel Dressen is out for the remainder of training
camp after suffering a set back to his surgically repaired left knee, according
to USA Today's Lindsay H. Jones. Dressen originally had sugery on the knee in June
of last year. He will now undergo an arthroscopic surgery to further clean out
the repaired knee. Dressen had been a full participant...
Another starter has suffered a significant injury. Starting tight end Joel Dreessen had a setback in his recovery from kneecap surgery and will be out at least two weeks.
The Broncos’ top two tight ends from last year Dreessen and Jacob Tamme didn’t dress for the scrimmage Saturday. Tamme was sidelined last week with a pulled quad. They combined for 93 receptions in 2012.
Editor's note: Ignore the fact that I'm drinking out of a Denver Broncos' coffee mug, sitting next to a Denver Broncos' blanket, and wearing Denver Broncos Zubaz pants (ok, maybe not that extreme). So, suffice it to say, I'm a fan. Now that I've given you that full disclosure, let me also note that I'm the biggest critic of the teams that I follow and...
(Eds: With AP Photos.) By ARNIE STAPLETON AP Pro Football Writer Joel Dreessen and Jacob Tamme combined for 93 catches, 911 yards and seven touchdowns last season, yet the tight end making all the noise at the Denver Broncos' training camp is a third-year pro with all of one career catch to his name.

Last Sunday, Broncos star linebacker Von Miller missed the Pro Bowl with a shoulder injury. Fortunately, the injury won’t force Miller to undergo surgery.
Due to incentives, cornerback Champ Bailey ($500,000), tight end Jacob Tamme ($125,000), wide receiver Eric Decker and center J.D. Walton ($693,000) have all received pay raises.

Part 4 of 9Position Breakdown: Tight EndsJoel Dreessen, 2013 base salary: $2.5 million: Signing Dreessen for three years and $8.5 million was one of the best investments the Broncos made in the off-season next to Peyton Manning. He was Denver’s most well rounded tight end and was rewarded with 300 more snaps on offense than Jacob Tamme. Mostly because of Dreessen’s demeanor blocking...
Denver’s chances of making their first Superbowl in 14 years look increasingly good heading into the final week of the regular season, with the Broncos just needing a win over lowly Kansas City to guarantee a first-round bye.
While Peyton Manning has spearheaded this team into one of the most dominating offences in the NFL, defensive coordinator, Jack Del Rio, has sorted things...
