The first four quarters of this game were brutal. Neither team played well at all. Luckily, 3 overtimes helped this game become a little more exciting. The Michigan football team narrowly defeated Northwestern on Saturday 27-19 in 3 OT’s. The Wolverines improved its record to 7-3, 3-3 in the Big Ten and Northwestern remains winless in the conference at 4-6, and 0-6.
The Michigan football team will play host to Akron on Saturday, with a kickoff set for 12:01. Coming off of Michigan’s 400th win at Michigan Stadium against rival Notre Dame, the Wolverines will look to continue their early season success in a game that it should win handily. The non-conference game is the first meeting in the history of the schools.

In this edition of the Michigan Football position preview series, I will take a look at the linebacker corps. Jake Ryan continues to make great progress in his recovery from an ACL injury suffered in spring practice. The Wolverines have a wealth of talent at his position and several emerging playmakers.
