Give Modry a break!
I realize as fans all we focus on is what happens on the ice and how players produce. I am sure others know this already, but Jaroslav Modry's dad is terminally ill. That is more than enough reason to explain him not...

Flyers shake up defensive pairings
With Kimmo Timonen likely out for the remainder of the playoffs, the Flyers have to face the reality of playing an offensive juggernaut like the Penguins without their best defensive player. Flyers lose 8 straight games, but there is still hope
To say the Flyers are in a funk is an understatement: the team has now lost 8 straight games. The good news: with a few wins and the return of Hatcher and Gagne, this team could end up making some noise in the playoffs.

Jaroslav Modry a Flyer
The Flyers finally made a move to shore up their defense, acquiring Jaroslav Modry, age 36, from the Los Angeles Kings for a third round pick. According to TSN, Modry is a "quietly effective player in the offensive zone" and has "excellent instincts".
