With his Central Valley (WA) HS team trailing Shadle Park HS 55-52, kicker Austin Rehkow was called upon to boot a 67-yard field goal with two seconds left in an attempt to send the game to overtime. If you’ve gotten this far then you know he nailed it, with plenty of leg to spare.
Oh, and for the record, he smashed the NFL record by a good 4-yards...

Veteran kicker David Akers tied the NFL record for the longest field goal in league history, with a 63-yarder that bounced over the crossbar the end the first half of today’s 49ers-Packers game.
And then, up 17-6 heading into the locker room, the Niners celebrated like they had just won the Super Bowl:

Broncos try out a kicker in Prater’s absence

The Denver Broncos are trying out a kicker in Matt Prater‘s absence. Prater, the Broncos’ franchise-tagged player, is holding out as he and the Broncos hammer out what he hopes is a five-term deal.
